Tombstones on the streets ... do you have these in your place?

Tombstones (or markers for the grave) are sold in a street near a cemetery in our city. It is located on one side of the road on the way to malls, business establishments, restaurants, government offices and schools. People who make these tombstones do their business on the side of the street and display them where they sit.
What is your take on this? Do you have a similar ones like this in your place?

It seems to me that almost anywhere that there is a cemetary that is still actively burying people then there is a tombstone establishment somewhere nearby. I always thought that it was morbid when I was growing up, but now that I am getting older, it seems to make a bit more sense to me. I know that when a family has lost someone that they love that they aren't able to function effectively and by having everything that they need close together makes it easier for the grieving family.

Hi Dorannmwin,
Sorry for the delayed response.
That is a very good observation. Here, I also notice that tombstones makers are located very near cemeteries. It is just logical for them to do that as it wouldn't look good to have them set up say, for example, near restaurants. Cemeteries are where their businesses are "having connection", so they stay there. They put up their small business outside the cemeteries and two are them are located on the side of the streets.

Hi Bingchen,
It is really an eye sore having these small workplaces and displays of finished items. There are lots of commuters and people who pass by the area and it is not very good to look at. You are right, it just destroys the good image of the city that people are continually trying to protect and maintain.

While I do not have one around my neighborhood. I can see the benefits to having one, maybe I could start one right now.
There are people who have kids that get hit by cars, you might want to place one as a memory to where they got hit for a while, to warn others and to grieve.
Others might have a very special pet that isn't allowed in a cemetery and can bury them with a tombstone in the backyard.
So I see no problem with it, could I get a couple funny ones?

The tombstones I am talking about are not placed there for memory's sake. They are on the side of the street being SOLD by small-time workers. They etch names and other details on the marble slate upon the instruction of buyers. The ones that I saw when we passed by are finished items and were placed and displayed on the side of the street awaiting pick-up by buyers.
I think it cannot be allowed to put permanent markers/tombstones there as it is on the side of a quite-busy street.
