NO you're not weird. I'm the same way. I listen to music for more than just the lyrics - like the beat, the tempo, tone, pitch, etc...

I do when I like the beat, I've heard some Arabic music or songs and Hindi, they more like dance beat! I also watch movies that I don't understand, I just go along with their emotions or body language and, most of the time I do enjoyed it.

~ Yes, I listen to music I don't understand, because I like how it sounds, I like the rhythm and this is the most important thing to about the songs, which are not on Bulgarian, English or German. ~

Not only Japanese and Korean songs, sometimes I listen to Russian, Germany or some other songs with lots of different language. The lyrics sometimes are not so important for me, maybe I like that song just because its melody. Some good songs can attract you without its lyrics. Otherwise, I can learn some Japanese while I listening to the Japanese songs.

true! it's the song arrangement that is more important, because sometimes, instrumentals sounds better than songs with lyrics

You aren't weird, I love all kinds of different music. It isn't the words that I think are important, it is the music, the beat, tempo, rhythm....the mood it puts me in while listening to it. Sometimes just what everyone else is listening to is not enough and if someone says or thinks that you are weird for listening to something that they think is too different, let them know you are broadening your horizons.

Hi Abee, I am the same type, but I don’t think it is weird. A song is composed of the lyrics and rhythm; most of us listen to the rhythm and do not have too much focus on the lyrics. It is common that we love the song because it sounds melodious rather than the lyric is impressive. I love the Japanese song such as First Love and the Korean song Romantics spreading over the room, the rhyme is really excellent that my words could not fully express that.

music don't have any language.. its about how much you understand the music... the note.. pitches....music is an art which don't have any language.. it can be expressed with singing or without singing, which don't required any language though and when it comes to heavy metal... I can listen every single stuff..it can be in any language.. or just real instrumental.. like those dream theater's liquid tension experiment...

i don't think you're weird, coz my iPod's playlist consists of korean songs--no english, no tagalog/filipino songs. i think im more updated in newly released korean songs than here in our country. so i wont say you're weird, unless i admit that im one too. lol

I listen to Taiwanese and Korean song even though I hardly understand them, however, after a while, the songs urged me to learn the language, and now I can partly understands the lyrics because I try to learn Korean and Chinese while listening to the music ^^ for me, it's more to the music rather than the lyrics. if the music is good, I don't mind about the lyrics or language ^^

Well normally not. But if I ever listened to it and I feel comfortable to it, I would certainly start to listening to it. The example is music from Japanese.

No, you're not weird. I am the same way. Music is more than just lyrics. Like you say, the beat, the tone, the pitch - all of that stuff. It really comes down to whatever moves you.

I listen to loads of Japanese music ranging from J-Pop and J-Rock, to J-Trance and J-Dance. I understand a few bits of the japanese languageby watching Subbed anime but I really do enjoy japanese music because of the way it can invoke so much emotion.
