give or received?

Would you prefer to give or to receive? Being given, like a gift or somethings always bring happiness to us,the same as being cared and appreciated. But giving could also give you special kind of happiness,a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. But which would you prefer? which one could always makes you happy, to give or to received?

Hi Careguarden,
I am a giver person. i love sharing anything that i have. i love sharing my skills and talents. i am a social worker by profession but my expertise is on training and counseling particularly with youths. i too have a training consultancy part-time job. i know in these ways i can impart god's given talent.
with family and even friends...i tried my best to show them my love and care in all ways.
of course i also want to be a receiver but in totality i am more of a giver. i am happy that i am blessed to be!

there's always a way to reap the good seeds that you sow. i admire her for being so generous and made her time more productive by helping the street kids. she deserves to be happy and enjoy the fruits of her labor. she did a great job for instilling in the street kids life positive values. thanks!

Yeah, thats exactly. Being a generous person is a good because we are live here to be generous not a greedy but sometimes, we have this attitude that being a selfish. I admire also with her.How I wish I will be liked her.

Well, it's kind of tough question.. Because it both gives the same.. satisfaction, joy, happiness.. love... But for me, I think it depends on the level of satisfaction that you will receive.. the level of love, joy, happiness.. I think anything with love is the sweetest.. Especially when it is with someone you love the most.. Or with the Most High that you've offered it most.. It's a special feeling.. of Fullness.. Of life..

Yes, you are correct annanina. Yeah it depends for the people if they think they are satisfied so be it. But there are people who really want to receive things all the time because they can see and felt that those people who gave them are willing and always. especially if you loved a person. you are willing to give everything or maybe your whole life just to see she is happy.

yes me n my husband have been givers all the time, but we r financially tight , so we put a hold to that .. i dont like receiving gifts, unless its 'cash' because people do not know me well, no matter how close they r the just misjudge me .. n get me things i dont want or need .. i have collected so many gifts wich r dumpet in boxes coz i cant do much with them .. if people give me food i normally share it with everyone ...

Well Sanjana, I think you are hard to please but if ever we are see each other in the future , I prefer to give you a cash gift so that you can buy what you liked . I like your philosophy in life because you are frank and telling the truth who you are. But for me, I am happy to give al the time than to received any gifts form the others and I don't know why. Maybe it is my way of helping other people that makes my life contented. "share the blessings so that you can have it all"

I think that it's nice to be both a giver and a receiver! When you give you do get a nice feeling deep inside and you never know when this favour will be returned, it shouldn't be expected but it will come around! You've probably heard that saying "What goes around, comes around!" I think it's just a nice thing to help others if you can. Andrew

You have a point Andrewfreyne but I believe that if you give to other people you don't need to wait in return . I am fully satisfied if I can gave gifts to other people without thinking any gifts in return. There are people who are like that . they gave gifts but they are waiting for the return. its not good. Being a good people, a good catholic, I didn't think in return if I gave someone a gift as long as they are happy.

We are the same ZhiZho. I'd like to give to other people especially when there is a celebration because I felt happy when I saw them happy too. I love this saying goes it is better to give than to receive. If I have, then someone ask me , I don't hesitate to give them.

It makes me happier if I'm the one giving. When I give, I don't usually expect something in return. I don't mind at all if I receive something too. It would also make me happy. I wonder how boxers would answer to this question..

Yeah, you're right it's only in giving where you will feel more happy. Although receiving can also makes you happy, but it differ when you give. Giving doesn't make you diminish but rather it will make you a better person. ANyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!
