What do you think you'll be doing when you get old?

I am 38 now and in 12 years i hope to be mortgage fee as well as have everything that i need as well as by then have money to get all the things that i want rather than going without things still when i am 50.I have lots of plans for the future like when the children are all grown up then i will move away i hope it will be near the beach.

When I get old I must have a house at least, so I won't be a burden for my kid's. From now I have save money to build my dream come true.

I plan to live near my sons, who are now in their early 20's. I live at the other end of the country from them, moved here almost 3 years ago. I should not have been so hasty but I can be with my dad (he's 87) till he's gone. Then I might move. Wherever I am, I don't plan to be in a retirement community--I like to be around people of all ages. I hope to stay in my own apartment or house until I die, which I hope is before I get dependent on anyone.

When I get old, i hope i still have the strength to enjoy my life with my loved ones. i wanted to travel locally or internationally(if budget permits), do household chores particularly cook filipino dishes, help our less fortunate brothers and sisters, help cancer patients, take good care of my loved ones, serve our church, eat out at fine dining restaurants, watch good movies at theatres and many more. in short, i wanted to live my life to the fullest and be productive as possible before i die..

I'm looking at retirement communities already even though it will be a few more years before I move into one. I'm also looking at the idea of forming a community as a co-operative rather than buying into one where it is run as a business for someone else's profit. I don't see why a group of older people can't buy a large building together and share it and cut out the middle man, so to speak. Obviously you need to work out the rules between yourselves and get it all drawn up legally but at least that way you are in control of what is happening.

in about three to four years i see myself owning a series of businesses and travel the world with my family. i also vision myself as comfortable as possible like owning my own home and having a nice and comfortable vehicle and being in a well paid job. in life nothing comes easy. we have to work hard towards our goals in order to try and achieve them and that is what we all should do.

When i get old i prefer to stay in my own house with my kids and if they are all have their own families i prefer to have a maid with me that can assist me in whatever i need. I would still welcome the modern generations changes this can make me feel younger and feel better. I believe that getting old is just an age. What is important is our feelings. But of course i will never want to be a burden to the people i love. As here in the philippines families are closely knitted, if you have shown love to your children you will never be alone on this old age. What you have given them will be given back to you with love... so if we don't want to be alone let's sow love to our families so that when we get old we'll never felt left alone.

First off, how old is old? I expect to retire and at 50 and spend my time traveling. Good health is of course very important. I am trying to stay healthy to not be a dependent on anyone to take care of me.

lady,I would got around the world with my lover if i can walk...when i can't walk ,i will still go around with the wheelchair... i never stay...Kepp running makes me feel alive and my life meaningful.so ,as an old man,just don't stop and don't think too much about your age, live as a youth,keep your mind young,so you will be young and happy

Hi, I work almost 14-16 hours at present so I can live comfortably in my old age, I planned that I will not work after the age of 45 after this phase I will do rest at my own house with my family spending time to do the things I like such as poetry, listening music, gardening, forming etc.

java09, What you think of an apartment to provide to a retirement community one way it is good, but what you've referred to as the "Grouchy old lady", naturally you should think again, when the people getting old, they are became just like childish nature they cannot able to change the grouchy activies, and as a human being nobody can tolerate this situation, hence you should think again or take some constellation with your family members or friends circle then you decide it.I am already in the border age only, but in my old age i may live separetly near to my children place.

I want to become a traveler .I think it may full of interesting.I like traveling.different kinds of food,different kinds of customs are my favourite.I want to go to different countries when I am old. It will keep me health and happy.

for me, id be living near the shore with my partner. with trees on the other side, or maybe on the mountains. i always like to smell the fragrance of the sea, plants and flowers and fresh air. i want to relax and escape the life in the city.

I've never thought of such a thing.When I am getting old, I hope I would hold my husband's hands and grow older toghther.That will be a romantic thing,do you think so? I hope i would be a old lady,not nasty,not grouchy,just have a peace heart.

Well, I'm a grouchy old man 76, and just waiting for the Nursing Home. Meanwhile I'm having a whale of a time keeping bees in Canada in the summer, and holidaying all winter in South Texas. I look after a Yoga group here in Alamo Texas, where we exercise 5 mornings a week for 45 minutes. There are currently 40 members who are doing the exercises, and I haven't missed a morning here, in more than 4 years. At home in Canada my wife and I do yoga 6 mornings a week, before I have breakfast and go off to look after the bees. I am getting nastier about everything, and I'm not the kind old man I'd like to bee! Perhaps I'm just waiting to get old!

When I get old I will probably live with one of my (future) kids. That's how it is in our culture, the kids take care of their parents in their old age. Or one of my kids' families will be living in my house. :) One thing for sure, I will be spoiling grandkids rotten. Haha.

I would be spending it in our house together with my wife. We should have lots of grandchildren by then. From time to time, maybe a long vacation to beautiful spot here in our country would be great. And I'll be spending all those retirement money for ourselves and not for our children anymore.

Right now my health isn't at its best. Well, it could be better lets put it that way. But, despite that I doubt much will change. I may not be on the computer nearly as much, and probably would eventually need others to look out for me. I don't want it to come down to that, but I already move like an old lady and I'm only 26. So It can be difficult to think what my life might be like if I become an old lady and become "elderly".

I think that when I'm old I will just be living my days a lone where ever I am at. I will always be thinking about the things I could of accomplished when I was young.

When I get old I would love to have my own apartment, and one of the things that have always want is being active, so I would love to keep working, my career has always been the most important thing in my life. So I will keep working until the day I die.
