Do you prefer eating from a buffet or to order off the menu?

I really love Chinese food, and have noticed how many more Chinese buffets there are these days compared to 10 years ago. It used to be that people would order off the menu instead. Do you prefer eating off of the buffet or ordering single dishes at a Chinese restaurant? Why?

We just had Chinese last Saturday with my family.. We enjoy buffet style because it's more fun and you can have lots of varieties to choose from

My father-in-law takes us out to eat at least once a month, and he lives for buffets. I never used to eat at a buffet, until I met him. I understand that you get more for your money. But, what if you aren't that hungry when you go to eat, or what if they don't have what you want tonight? I do enjoy being able to keep going back for more though. It's nice.
When my husband and I eat Chinese food, we go to a little carry out place by our house and order exactly what we want though. I normally get either Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, or Bourbon Chicken, and of course fried rice and an egg roll! I also get an order of crab rangoons! They are so good!

This is hard to compare. In the restaurant, you will not order a lot of dishes. Whereas you will try to eat more in the buffet. Since it is not comfortable and unhealthy to eat so full. So usually I prefer to eat in the restaurant and order the dishes I want from the menu.
I love China

Chinese food is my favorite. No matter how you order your chinese food it always costs like $30. Most of the time I order Chinese food to be delivered and I order off the menu. I like eating off a Chinese Buffet as well...because this way you get to try things you might not have ever ordered and plus you get to eat all your favorites as well. Now I want chinses food, thanks.
