My HP laptop always remains at 6% battery even with charger plugged in??

I've had my HP laptop for about 2 years or so. Over the past few months (I think its been that long), the laptop seems to always remain at 6% battery even though the charger is plugged in. Mind you we always have the laptop charger plugged in. So I'm thinking maybe since the charger is always plugged in, maybe the laptop battery is now drained of power and can't recharge? If its my battery, how much is a new one?

i believe your battery cell is dry that is why you can not charge it with 100%, i will cost in around 100$ more or less brand new. if you change the battery inside it that will be less cost if you know how..

It's very likely that your battery is getting weak, and about to expire soon. The fact that it can only store that little charge even when the mains is plugged in, indicates that it's time you get a replacement for your battery. With the popularity of laptops nowadays, I don't think it will be very expensive. Do a search on your local dealers and you could probably get yourself a good deal.

well most likely your battery is at fault there.have you tried charging it without powering on the laptop.and did it charged the battery to full charge?well here in my country there are options of repacking the batteries because its a lot more cheaper than buying the new ones but i dont know if it lasts just like the new battery.anyway it would cost you around $100 or less for a new battery for your laptop.

It depends on the brand of computer, the model type and weather you want a six cell or nine cell battery. And, yes when a computer battery refuses to hold a charge, its a sign the battery itself is duying. I've had to replace my battery once, and I too keep my computer plugged in all of the time. On rare occassions I'll have no other choice to unplug it, but regardless of how often you plug, or unplug your computer the battery normally only lasts a couple of years.

it's the battery. it's done it's time. some practises help to kill the battery, like the brightness of the screen and the volume. also, having it plugged in all the time can really reduce the battery's life span. and i suggest getting a new battery, the price varies with the model laptop.
