What kind of public vehicle you are most comfortable at?

I rarely ride a public vehicle, but when I do I prefer riding in a van or (sometimes) air conditioned bus since the trip is two hours so I really consider the kind of vehicle I'll ride in. :-)
How about you.. what kind of public vehicle you are most comfortable at? and what are your reasons?? ;)

Hello, I've no problem with most vehicles, but for land transportation I'd say my favorite would be the MRT. I get paranoid on highways when riding in a fast car or bus. I feel as if I'm about to crash in an accident. LoL. It's a paranoia I guess. Statistically, it is believed that the safest way to travel is by plane - meaning you're a lot safer up there than down here. But then again taking the plane is not an everyday thing. Anyway I hate long travelling for long hours so as much as possible, I stay away from those kind of trips unless it's that necessary.

Oh we both have the same fear.. I also don't like riding in a public bus though I really wanted to overcome this major fear. :) Now I'm getting used to it. Still prefer private car haha. :) Thanks kquiming take care and God bless

Train,I like to travel in this public vehicle if I have to travel a long distance.Unlike buses, there is space to roam when you feel bored. And you can have train friends for the time being to chat and time pass.We should not forget the toilet facilities within the train.

Yes, I agree. I like the train best of all. One dose not have far to fall should there be a problem. Don't have to stop for trafic lights. No carjacking. Train rides are very comfortable. Look out the windows and see the country side. Get up and walk around to the dinning car. Yep, it is a blast. The train ride is even better with some one to share the ride with. The on board security is perfect to have along and make the ride great.
I would like to take a train ride from coast to coast some day.
Any one ever do that?

Since I am rather tall compared to average people here in my country, I really like to take a van than a tricycle, a jeep or a bus. And not only just any seat in the van, I really want to be seated where there is enough space. Most of the time, I end up sitting with my knees raised as they would hit the next seat infront of me so I really couldn't relax.
Tricycles just gets me to bow too low, similar to jeepneys.. on buses, I would really like to be seated behind the driver as it often has more space compared to other seats available.

I am about 188 Centimetres or 6 feet and 2 inches.
Its really annoying to ride tricycles for me but, what else is there to take when you need to go to work? Be it in the side car, I really hate those egg type side cars, or at the back ride. The roof is most often low enough to make me bow my head throughout the duration of the trip..

Just a question, may I know what's your height? :) I'd like to know the average height of a passenger that would probably be uncomfortable riding in tricycles. My brother is also tall but not so and with his average height he's already complaining that he's uncomfortable in tricycles.

I don't really like any forms of public transport but, when I do need to take them I would rather just go in the taxi so that then I am more comfortable!

I used to be quite comfortable taking buses and FX when we still lived in Fairview. I also had no problems riding jeepneys to and from work. But recently, I've been quite afraid of commuting. Afraid of robbers to be honest. So all I do is take a cab :( it's too expensive too. Sometimes I take a cab to the MRT station, and then when I get off the train, take a cab again if where I'm going isn't within walking distance of the station. Sad, really.
But also, if i were to take a jeep to work, i would need to walk a lot and have two jeep transfers.

Hi thanks verabear :) I won't deny that I'm also quite afraid with what you are afraid of. Actually I'm SO afraid haha :( But I know I should overcome this fear soon as it is destructing me as a person. :( Maybe if you get used to it, that fear will eventually die. And of course nothing beats prayers. :) Always pray that God guides you in your journey and He may keep you from all the bad elements :) And just in case you caught yourself in the situation, just GIVE because your life is more important than the material wealth. :)
Thanks for responding and God bless you always! X

I am comfortable with air condition bus sometimes, but the smell of the air conditione makes me vomit, that is why it is necessary that I have candies to eat. I can stay in a non aircondition bus too, but I prefer evening trip because it is so hot in the morning trip especially in the afternoon. I am also comfortable riding public utility jeep, I ride on it everyday and Metro Rail. I want that vehicles because during journey everyday, I want a safe and comfortable trip, so that when I am already there on the place I will go, I do not look stress but fresh.

I am more into riding the greyhound bus when traveling because my mom and I use to ride the bus all the time when visiting my grandma in Oklahoma, and we were coming from West Memphis Arkansas.
The only downside was that the ride was super long, over 500 miles long. You can forget about taking a good nap, the seats weren't made for GOOD sleeping.
I like to sight-see and get away from home for a while, but if the bus is crowded I'll park my butt at home until another day.
My husband and my dad like to ride airplanes, but I'm scared of height. But I'll go if someone goes with me. That's fair enough.
My mom says, "Are you crazy? I'll ride the bus, and I'll meet you there a day after you get there."

Hi Cecille
I enjoy flying, but that is such a hassle these days, and a danger in some respects. A bus is fine, too. Someday, I would like to ride on a modern train, as I've never done that.

I have to say the best public vehicle would be a taxi. I have yet to find a bus that I find comforting on. I find it hard to believe that there are any other utility vehicles that are nice to ride on for more than 30 minutes aside from a taxi.

hi cecillecarmela!
I have tried different types of public vehicle and I'm comfortable to commute on fine weather. I like jeepneys, buses, vans, mrt, lrt, trains, tricycle and taxi cabs. But going to my work I prefer taxi cabs. Because it only took me 10 to 15 minutes going to work everyday. While other transportation took me ages to reach my office. Hehe!

I always ride public vehicles when going to work. I usually ride jeepneys but they are not my fave after all! haha... my fave public vehicles are FX and airconditioned buses. These two make me feel comfortable when travelling. One reason is that they are both closed. I want them closed so that the pollution coming from the smoke-belching vehicles will not go directly on my face and second, i love the coolness they bring.. haha! :D

For me cecillecarmela, since i dont own a car, i always commute to my destination and my kind of PUV is the jeepney. Here in the Philippines, that's what you see. It's everywhere. Sometimes, i ride the bus but hates riding it because it's always as if in a hurry. The air-conditioned van, too, is the second on my list because few people are only accommodated to ride in.

for moe the most comfortable form of transportation is an airplane. yes, but it's costly and it's not like i ride a plane everyday. next on the list would be a well airconditioned cab. it's almost a private vehicle. then, it would be a well air conditioned bus. but i prefer the spacious kind, not the one wherein everyone is cramped up together and the seat space is not enough.

If we are talking about public transport here, then my ultimate favourite is the almighty train
Where I live, the railway line is heavily relied upon to travel from point A to B swiftly and directly. Plus, they offer lots of personal space, relatively comfy seats and a very admirable view

I want to ride on a space ship but may be it is only on my dreams. I am comfortable with those medium size air-conditioned vehicles, Id rather prefer a pajero or a starex or maybe a sportscar.

The trip I have to take every week is two hours long by bus, one hour by car and three hours by train. Since I don't have a car, I have to choose between bus and train. After one year of doing this, I think I'm most comfortable on the bus. I can sit in one place the whole time, open my laptop, read a book..no one bumps into me and it doesn't get too crowded. The nly problem is space but it's big enough for stretching my legs since I'm small, and opening my laptop or reading a book. Trains can be good for traveling, but the hours when I travel are rush hours, so it gets really crowded and you have to be there an hour early just to get a seat. Plus there is no guarantee that you're going to have enough space for your legs or opening a laptop. The ticket doesn't even guarantee you a seat.
