last night, we were treated to a selection of meat that i have never eaten before, thank god we were vegetarian yesterday n could actually turn down the offer ..
other than the chicken meat i cant bring myself to eat other meats
lamb ~ i can eat a few pieces (must be overcooked n the smell hidden by herbs)
beef, pork, duck, turkey ~ we dont consume them in our family, when i was introduced to them i could not even attempt to try at all
so i guess i only enjoy chicken n selection of seafood items ..
cheers

I have never eaten rabbit but I know my dad has eaten rabbit and he says its good. And I have eaten Ostrich and to believe it or not its very good. A little salty but it tastes just like steak to me..

Hello my friend sanjana_aslam Ji,
Well, I just could not understand, why one has to be vegetarian on particular day like you were on that day. I could imagine that you might be on particular mission. But , we are permanently vegetarians. On 04th Feb, we were invited for a B'day party ofmy friend's grand -daughter and tehy were fully aware of our liking. They had to prepare seperate dishes for both of us, even without onion and garlic. So normally, we avoid hotling/visiting and attending any parties or restrict to high-Tea and snacks.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Hello my friend sanjana_aslam Ji,
I think it isupto individual's choice of living. If one feels better in particular situation and style, on eshould adopt happily without getting biased from others.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Hi sanjana_aslam, I dont like meats. :( I also feel terrible at the thought of some bird dying beause of me, though the plants also die because of me. :) I however eat eggs. I tried chicken, mutton, and pork, but nothing could make me like it. :( Finally, I cried in front of my doctor that my papa was forcing all such things, and that I was not relishing food - so she warned papa not to do that ever, and that is how I got my independence in choosing food. :)

My dad is a hunter and I grew up eating deer and squirrel. Most people look at me funny when I say I eat squirrel. The usual response is "Ewww, you eat roadkill?" No I do NOT eat roadkill, lol. Squirrel is actually pretty good. And there is no better (or leaner) snack than deer jerky, yum.

Oh! But I would not really have given up the chance to taste so many different meat LOL…I am a total glutton and apart from beef, I’m open to all! Though apart from lamb and chicken, nothing is available easily and quite unaffordable. Have you tasted anything else like scallops, octopus etc.?

No, no, no Sanju darling…I can never eat those slimy things! You know here in Bengal mollusks and scallops are actually regarded as the poor man’s food! Bengal is riverine with lots of ponds so the poor people who cant afford to buy fish, will go to the ponds and fish out scallops and eat them as a non-veg source of protein! It was only in TV that I came to know that these are eaten as delicacy the world over LOL

I really think you missed out.
Rabbit is one of my favourite meats and I love game birds... Never had ostrich before now, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't try it, given the chance!
If you're worried about cruelty, or some of the ethical concerns in eating meat, then chicken is possibly the worst of all. (Unless you're eating a free range bird, that is.)
In terms of taste - game blows industrialised meat out of the water!

I do not see how you can call yourself a vegetarian, but I love deer meat it is amazing and I like the taste of most animals if they are cooked right.

Although I don't pride myself on it, over the course of my lifetime I Have eaten some pretty strange dishes!
They include: turtle, ostrich, emu, buffalo (not bad), rabbit, rattlesnake on a stick, alligator, chocolate covered ants, spicy flavored worms, crayfish, chicken gizzards, escargot, and pate. To top it all off, I once ate a goat-jaw-meat burrito with some Mexicans. What the heck is wrong with me? The only thing that upset my stomach though, was the ostrich; I think it was undercooked. I got the ants and worms at the zoo. What's funny about that is I've eaten them a couple of different times. mmmm worms.
