I wonder if what is the president's reason of not signing the resolution. This is a good way of helping our grand parents to lessen there daily expenses especially those lolo and lola depending their daily needs to their pensions and daily earnings. The resolution is good also to help them in buying their medicines.

I don't understand if you are talking about which country. I live in India and we have discounts for senior citizens. Many banks give more interest to deposits by senior citizens. Indian railways give fifty percent discounts to all the senior citizens which is really great. So, now senior couples in my country started going for trips more at their old age.

Yes that would really help a lot many senior citizens. I have both parents that are senior citizens already and that could be a big help for them to at least enjoy some kind of discounts on their purchases especially the medicines. There is already an existing law right now and these is just an addendum of benefits for them. I think the government is thinking about the new law because it has cost implication when this is finally implemented. But I guess they deserve to have a break because at some point in their lives they have serve our country too so they deserve to have the break in terms of cost of living.

I already knew this ago that senior citizens are entitled to discounts, I think 20% or less this has been implemented long time ago, did they try to change this?

Because my parents are both senior citizens, I hope it pushes through. I'd like for them to enjoy discounts on lots of things especially medicines. A lot of senior citizens are now retired from work and are depending on pensions alone. Giving them bigger discounts, and exempting them from VAT, will help a lot. The news says PGMA will sign the resolution as an early Valentine's Day gift to the Filipino elderly...

She did not?! Oh no! That is bad news. Maybe she is still trying to consider things further. Maybe one of these days she will. I hope so. =)
