Paypal is NOT a scam. I have been with Paypal for a while now and have never had problems. As a matter of fact one time I bought an item from someone and paid for it via paypal. Well, the person got my money, but never sent the item. Ebay fought for me and there was nothing they could do to get my item and paypal refunded me immediately.
The other thing I love about paypal is that when you buy an item the person you are buying from does not have access to your personal information. When I was first told about paypal I was scared because I did not want anyone getting my personal information, so I called paypal and the lady I spoke to reassured me that my information is never released to anyone.

Paypal is legit. I have used it for many payments owed me for about 8 years now.
A few things to know about paypal:
They will NEVER solicit you via email to ask for your bank account info. Often scammers send out "official" looking emails with paypal name asking for bank info etc. This is the scam. It's not from paypal. You can go to their site to review this type of warnings.
Hope this helps!

I am also new to paypal but I never doubt whether its a scam or not. From the start, I believed that it is a legitimate banking and finance establishment. I also believe that the idea of an online banking have its origin quite a long time ago.

What a silly question you are asking! My house in India is located near a PayPal office and my uncle uses PayPal for his salary crediting and stuff like that! Oh! And also, the fee that they charge is quite high! I just cannot wait to see my forst payment via PayPal!

No Pay pal is not a scam.it really receives and transfers your money and you can even attach your credit /debit card to transfer pay pal balance to your credit/debit card. But you should be very very careful about your pay pal mail id's password.
