SPOILER ALERT I just finished reading Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. After reading several of her books, I now rarely find myself surprised by her twists and turns and her endings. However, I finished this book a day ago and am still a little disturbed about the end. The concept and irony is not lost on me - the idea that something other than Willow would break and that would be the end of her, not her own brittle bones. The lawsuit tore the family apart, although each individual seemed better off in the end for going through the journey - seems to be part of the "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" mentality. And while I can't say it was all for nothing in the end because I do think Amelia came out stronger on the other side, as well as Sean and Charlotte's marriage, when Willow died it made me feel empty. Anyone else feel that way? Any other reactions to the ending of this book?

I enjoyed the book all the way up until that ending! I was so angry I swore I'd never read another one of her books! I have hated a lot of her endings so I don't know why I was so surprised, I should have expected it. In spite of what I said, I know I'll read her next one anyway, and I know I'll hate myself for doing it!

I know, I wasn't surprised but it certainly doesn't give a warm fuzzy feeling. Although I don't think any of her endings have given me a warm fuzzy feeling. I especially enjoyed Nineteen Minutes and The Pact, but they are obviously sad subjects as well. I do feel like she educated me on the subject of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. I didn't even know what it was before, even though I did see that movie Unbreakable a long time ago.
