In the beginning of the school year I decided I wanted to play a new sport. I had always wanted to run cross country but never had the courage. Since I was at a new school I thought, this would be the best time to try it out. So I did and enjoyed it alot. It was VERY tough but fun and it helped me relieve alot of stress from my school work. I wasnt the best but I wasn't the worst, however I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I learned how to work hard and keep going no matter how tired I was. Because I challenged myself physically I decided to challenge myself mentally, and applied for a couple of summer internsips, and college scholarships. I never thought cross country would impact me this much...Please share times when you have challenged yourself.

Most recently, I have some old German letters. They belonged to my great-grandfather and are from 1922 and 1923. Now my German is pretty fluent, but these letters were written in the old script. Here is a link, if you want to see an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kant_deutsche_Kurrent.png Anyway, I was going to try and find somebody who could read it and "translate" the letters into German for me so that I could translate them into English for my aunts. One day I just decided, you know, everything is available on the internet if you know where to look. So I printed off examples of the script and I figured out how to read it. I have 3 out of 7 letters done so far, and I really need to get off my duff and get back to the other 4. It got to be fun after a while...

The first one took a couple of weeks, the second one maybe a week, the third one two days and the fourth one (only a few words left that I couldn't get) was all done in one night...

Good for you for experimenting by stepping out of your comfort zone! That was very perceptive of you, my friend. And by doing so you also learned new limits for your mind and your body. What a wonderful lesson in life that you can carry on to your future children! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

My life will be full of lessons to teach my future children. Now I'm ready to try everything (almost). Maybe next I'll go skydiving...just maybe.
