As computers are literally taking over our lifes, i am very curious to know, how many of you still use pens? Do you use them everyday or just once in a while? I use a pen everyday, as i only use my laptop at home for mylot. The work i do, luckily doesn,t require a lap- or desktop.

Hi , Saphy.:) I thought of paying your profile a visit and see what's cooking in your kitchen.:) As for youtr topic, I am obsessed with pens and ballpens. I have a number of collections though not expensive but they are very usable and functional. I don't have an office job, as you already knew of, but I scribbled a lot. Answering soduko and other word puzzles available in the magazines or newspapers. I also need it to list things for my next visit to the grocery store and for jotting my thoughts whenever the pc is not available for my own perusal. I believe that pens are still handy despite of the computer era.:)

Hi sweetie. Hope you didn't smell the burnt food. Well, i don't do a office job either, but i do need a pen each day. There is always something i have to check and to remember, well i am getting old, so it's better to write it down, you know. Pens will never go out of fashion. We will always need and use them. Thanx. TATA.

There are some programs where students take quizzes on the computer and the program is just imported into the grade book program. The only problem with this is that then you do not know where the student is having trouble, do they not get the whole process, or did they just make a simple adding mistake in one step of the problem? I know that that computers are taking over. At my last dr. appointment, the dr. sent my prescription directly to the pharmacy. no pen involved at all.

Yes, only because I am in school. However, over the winter break I didnt use my pen at all, but when the break was over and I had to go back to school, it felt odd to write again.

Yes, because when all technologies fail in 2011, we will need our trusty friend, the pen.

I use a pen everyday, and I always have a couple in my bag because you'lle never know when you need to jot something down. I have a planner that I write notes on every day and I also take notes for a training that I attend twice a week at work. Even if we're going to get the slides anyway, nothing beats taking down your own notes to aid retention.

Definitely useful. Aside from an extra black pen, I have a black marker and two violet ones in my bag. I just like having them there as an option for me. Hehe

I use desktop even at work. However, I also use pens a lot at work for signing important documents. Usually the documents are typed and printed out but I still have to sign it using a pen.

well, saphrina, a pen remains one of the most indispensable things that we have to keep on hand. from shopping to taking phone calls, we need a pen to make some notes. a computer may be around, but it's awkwardly not handy to help us check or make our shopping list. we also sign documents, a computer cannot do that for us. only pens do...

I love using pens when writing down notes during lecture. It makes me feel connected to the notes I'm writing rather than typing in the laptop. I love the act of writing because of the personal feel it gives that's why when I write cards, more than writing it came from me, I also write a small note or quote to make it more from mine.

I am a student studying in engineering. So i had lot of things to do workout with pen. I use computer regularly. But pen and paper plays a major role in my life. I should carry pen everyday. Otherwise work may stop in between. I am in India. We don't have much technology to do everything with laptop. So using pen is must for me.

HI saphrina: i now rarely use a pen to write, and occasionally write a few,i found the posture of writing make me feel not comfortable.once i also learn to pen writing for a good looking, but now which i write is miserable. another thing i am most worried about is the future i can only see the word on computer, typing, but can't use a pen any more.

Unfortunately, it is one thing that we cannot just ignore and forget about. You have to stay in practice. You never know when you will need to take up the pen again. TATA.

In china there is a proverb"A bad pencil is better than good memory".I use a computer in my job,but I still use my pen to write something down so that I can remember the information I get while I am working.I use my pen almost during my weekday.I really found a pen very very useful to remember sth, even you have a computer.

In my country we don't use computers at school so I use pens to make notes. I also use pens at home to write anything for school since everything has to be handwritten. I only use my laptop at home but I only use it for facebook and watching tv shows. I think people should still use pens, write notes and letters because what is written on paper stays there forever (or at least for a few years), while things we write on the computer can be easily lost.

I use the computer almost everyday but I still need a pen. I like to write and I prefer to do it on the computer because I can write faster but this doesn't stop me from using a pen. I use a pen for numerous reasons throughout a day and I feel quite lost without one. The computer is an important piece of technology in our lives but I hope it will never eliminate the use of pens and writing.
