How Network Marketing Really WORKS.

Say, I went into the grocery store, and I bought a diet coke, and 44 bars of snickers (we gotta keep this realistic you know) I pay for it, and I leave. You, are in line behind me and you buy a Diet Coke, and 44 bars of snickers, you pay for it, and just before you leave you shore your "Grocery Store Loyalty Card" and they give you bonus points for your purchase, and when you get enough bonus points they will give you a trip to Hawaii, Wait a second, we Did the SAME thing, but you got something extra. But it gets better. After a while, the Grocery Store calls you up and says, I see you have been using your Loyalty Card, if you tell your friends about it, and get them to get their own Loyalty Cards, they could go to Hawaii with you, and whats more, for every time they use their loyalty card we will give you a few extra points so you can earn your trip to Hawaii faster. Well that is Exactly how Network Marketing(MLM) works except instead of bonus points we use cash. Questions? Comments? Constructive Criticism? I am all ears, well eyes really, What do you think?

That is exactly how MLM works. The problem is finding those friends that are willing to also join up and help your empire grow.

His 'parable' is not quite accurate. It would not be so bad if all your friends wanted to buy was diet coke and Snickers and also didn't have to open their own stores (selling only those things) in order to qualify.

Teamrose. You are right, but you don't need many friends. You can always make new friends too, while keeping your old friendships strong. There are almost always new people coming to town. And it is not just your friends, but their friends. That help, most of the income in MLM is made for you, by people you don't even know. I appreciate you. Owlings. You are right, my parable is not quite accurate. Perhaps, your friends would rather buy unlimited calling, or travel packages, or diet cookies, or water filters. Perhaps not. Perhaps some want to open their own stores, perhaps not. Maybe some will just join because they can get a rebate on the product or service offered by your "store", maybe some would prefer to just be a customer. It is all a matter of perspective, keep looking for the ways things don't work and you will find them, start looking for the ways things Will work and you will find them. Thoughts? I appreciate you as well.

that is the true concept of networking marketing, you build network of friends to try a product that you use, and when they do...the company will give you incentives for your effort. there is money in network marketing...but of course, avoid the pyramiding scam, the concept of it is different from what network marketing really is.

And what is the difference between a Pyramid and a Legitimate company? What do you know too look for to find the difference the two? I would encourage you to express this in your own words for the benefit of all else who read this post. I would much prefer you explain how to do the what, instead of just saying that what. I appreciate you.

Well, that's not EXACTLY the way it works. With MLM, I actually have to open my own grocery store and hope to persuade people to buy stuff they probably don't want so that they can open their own store ... and so on.

The store is already open. Unless you are founding a MLM company. Sure, you are an independent contractor for said store, and as such are in business for yourself. But you don't have to stock shelves, or buy a building etc. Stuff they probably don't want to buy...If I don't want to buy something I don't, I complete agree with this, that is why you look for the Store that is selling what people want and join that one. Thoughts?
