Hi there mylotters!Poker is one of the games that i get so addicted ., i used to play this for 6months and i really kinda like playing it ., some says it is a matter of luck .,if you are really not lucky to have a good card then you might not win at all ., but it sometimes depends on how good you are in filling up or bluffing.
Here are the basic rules in playing poker:
Poker is a community card game that can be played with anywhere from 2-10 players.
One player acts as dealer. This position is called the button and it rotates clockwise after every hand.
The two players to the left of the dealer are called the small blind and the big blind, respectively.
These two positions require forced bets of a pre-determined amount and are the only players to put money in the pot before the cards are dealt (if no ante in place).
Every player then receives two cards face down. These are called "hole" cards.
Once all hole cards have been dealt, the first betting round begins with the player sitting immediately to the left of the big blind. This player can fold, call (match the amount of the big blind) or raise.
Betting then continues clockwise, with each player having the option to fold, call the amount of the highest bet before them, bet or raise.
When the first betting round is completed, three community cards are flipped face up on the table. This is called the flop.
The second round of betting begins with the first remaining player seated to the left of the button. The betting resumes, clockwise, with each player having the option to check (if no bet in front of them), bet (or raise if a bet before them), call or fold.
When the second round of betting is finished, a fourth community card is flipped face up on the table. This is called the turn.
The third round of betting commences with the first remaining player sitting to the left of the button.
When the third round of betting is over, a fifth community card is flipped face up on the table. This is called the river.
The fourth round of betting starts with the first remaining player seated to the left of the button. The betting continues to move clockwise.
these are the basic rules ., and it is up to you on how good you are in betting .,

I have to admit poker really is an addictive game. When my friend who plays pro here in our country introduced me to the felt I couldn't help but keep on playing. I was in poker rooms for weeks straight. Anyway, it's kinda frightening too coz you can go to gambling rehab if it goes out of hand.

I have this similar discussion. I was very addicted to this game until now but I freeze my online FULLTILT and Pokerstars account because it is going to ruin my life. Yes my friends it can ruin your life and time. You get so in to it that you forget to eat because you don't want to miss your hole cards or hand because maybe you'd think you'd get Aces or Kings or even the Queens. Which it turns out you got Sucked out. People get the word "TILT" meaning they have no more focus to the game and tends to do wild raises and bets. Poker is a game of patience and skill and also there is a luck factor but you have to set aside emotions when playing this game. I know a lot of people spending mostly online in Poker and lose money very much. I'd suggest if you play poker you play it with your extra money, not the money you save and hope you could doubled it up. It is gambling so you should not gamble your future! Its been 4 months I'd stop playing this game now my life has turned into a bit sweeter than the days I played Poker. I hope you get my point. I am Poker player and a gambler and I can't lie to that. Good Luck on the tables.
