Acai Berry- nonsense or does it really work?

I've heard a lot of hype about Acai berry pills and detox systems etc. My neighbor just started one and has had some side affects but no success yet- it might be too early to tell. Have you heard anything about the acai berry or have you used it? In your opinion is it successful or just another weight loss scam?
