I always wonder what is the better thing to use, paper plates or dishes. With the paper plates you are making trash, and filling landfills. With the dishes you are using extra water and electricity. Anyone that is big on enviroment issues have any thoughts. I like the paper plates because of saving clean up time, but then I feel bad for creating more trash.

Well,, I would go with Dishes, because you can re use the dishes. I do not prefer paper plates, because paper is made from the tree if you are using paper it means come one is cutting the tree and making these papers. I would use dishes, that too steel ones. We can clean them and re use. The only problem with the dish is to clean and it requires water to clean. If trees are on the earth then there will be no problem for water.I would suggest you to stop using paper plates and use dishes. Save paper save tree.

You know, I was thinking about this only yesterday. i was stacking up the dishwasher and saying to myself how easier it would be if we just used paper plates then we could throw them away. but then I got to thinking about the environmental impact. The dishwasher uses a lot of electricity and about 13 litres of water per cycle, but them paper plates cause more landfill and the chopping down of trees. Whichever you choose, they are both using resources and are probalby just as damaging as each other.

one thing i came up with is that paper plate is made of woods. If most people use dishes other than paper plates, production of paper plate will shrink. And more frost will be protected. Do you think by doing so it is better for the environment?
