I was watching Doctor Oz today, and this is a segment I didn't pay much attention to as I don't wear makeup, but I was watching him today and he talked about what is bad in makeup. One of the things, was petroleum jelly in lipgloss, and that opened my eyes as just the other day I put petroleum jelly on my lips. He said something about it being introduced in mines or something like that, anyone who's seen today's show knows what I'm talking about and can probably fill people in more.

I just responded to your other Dr Oz discussion and so Dr Oz thinks he knows what makeup is bad for you, when all of it is just common sense and he probably just reads the labels and then tells people that, and I had told you that petroleum jelly probably should not be used on your lips,so Dr Oz saying it does not mean anything and that just shows you that you should have listened to me when I told you you probably should not do it,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

Ugh! That sounds pretty gruesome to me. Didn't realize that. Used to use it all the time on babies bottoms and so forth before the good stuff came out. I sware by the beeswax though. The entire royal jelly thing is good. Lots of b vitamins and so much more. Read up!
Here is the link about it: http://ask.doctoroz.com/question/petroleum-jelly-lips

Yes I've heard Burts Bees is really good. I don't think I've ever used it myself, though. So cocoa butter is better, I could see why. I think cocoa butter is also supposed to be good for stretch marks and real dry skin. I have cocoa butter bath wash that I like to use, it smells good!

Oh, I don't watch the show anymore but it came on in the morning for us. He's a pretty cool doctor. Of course sometimes you can't believe all they say but still. I can't wear lipstick, my lips are too chapped and dry, but even when they aren't it just doesn't put on right... lol. Plus my skin is pale white and a stark color looks bad. I go with pinks for lipgloss.

Petroleum jelly is in almost everything in the form of petrolatum but most people don't check the labels on health and beauty products.

Yea I was thinking about that, how petroleum is probably in pretty much all cosmetics.

I don't wear makeup and never really have. Maybe I'll use some lipgloss but that is about it. I never properly learned how to put makeup on anyway.

Yes it seems your constantly having to buy something new, newer face wash, moisturizers etc just because of makeup. I don't wear makeup.

I had heard that several years ago, from a health segment on our local news. I told my mom about it and I actually think she knew. But I guess she is one of those people who don't faze easily, and I know on occasion she still uses Vaseline. Once I found that out about the petroleum jelly, I cut out using Vaseline on my lips pretty much to nothing. But on some days when my lips are unexepectly chapped, I do smear a little bit across them anyway. Although I don't buy it anymore, over at my parent's house they still keep a small jar of it.

yea I don't use petroleum jelly anymore either. We still have some but it'll probably stay as "some" for awhile. My cousin and aunt told me that you can brush your lips and it works just as good, also there's some avon exfoliant cream, atleast i think it's avon.
