I have always loved accessorizing. A plain outfit can be made special with a belt, hat, necklace, bag, shoes or any kind of accessories. Now I am trying my hand at creating my own accessories and selling them. Friends and family members say that what I do is nice, but I would appreciate others' opinions who are not compromised by not wanting to hurt my feelings. Also, I would love to get advice from others who have been in this buisness longer and know the ins and outs of it.
p.s. my website is www.highfashionjewelrybl.com

I am interested in learning how to make jewelry. What did you get to get you started? I've seen some books/magazines, but I don't know which ones are better. (Or for beginners).

I actually got started looking at instructions online. Have you ever heard of Fire Mountain Gems? They have tips and instructions as well as products and tools on their site. They really helped me get started. As for books, I browsed through a few at my local Michaels, so I think any craft store- even regular stores that sell crafts- have some decent selections. Good luck making jewelry. I hope you find it fun.

Hi!
I am also interested in making jewelry. I actually keep putting it off since I think I lack the creative bone in my body. I appreciate fine pieces but I am not sure if I can create one. Thanks for the info vjenkins! I will definitely check out that website. And they are correct, your pieces are exquisite. :)
Happy mylot-ing!

I think your jewelry is very nice! I myself actually just started making jewelry. I had the intent to sell it but I'm not sure if I ever will or not. It just seems so far off because I've just now finally got the hang of what I need to do to create a piece! Good luck with sales, I think your website looks great :-)
