You're attracted to books on geography or history?
I know both are important, but if you must choose ... what you choose?
History, who help you to know your past to your country and all humanity?
Or geography, which makes you know today's world, travel, know how much big is this world, where is a country or other, rivers, mountins, oceans, all about this world?
History or geography?

I would prefer history. I hate memorizing dates but I love to read and listen to different stories. Some stories would really make me feel amazed.. ^.^

Geography was one of the subjects I liked at School, I have an interest in Places around the world and the climate of the world in particular. I remember during secondary school we used to sometimes have a Quiz during our lesson and I used to be very good at these quiz's as I am really interested in the rest of the world and the climate.

Geography is more a here and now situation, while history is why we are where we are today. Even though we can indeed learn from history, we keep on spreading like cancer throughout the world. Geography is more important in the sense we are growing as a population and we need to know what we are doing to the land and where we have to go when overcrowding really gets worse than it is now.

I have always liked history, it interests me to learn about the past much more than geography.
I have a basic understanding of most of the world and the climates and what not, but to me history is a more interesting topic in general.

Hello. It is hands down history for me. Geography frustrates me. I guess I just can't get into remembering all the different areas. For me, history sucks me in and is always new and exciting. History has so much much to tell and learn about. I love taking history classes in college. History seems to have all those interesting stories that can make your imagination go wild. History is just easier to remember for me.

hi, icesmile! I like them both- these were one of my favorite school subjects, when I was a student at the high-school. I can't say, which one I like the more, because there both are very interesting- it is interesting to learn the history of your country, how it is founded, which races have lived there, was it a glorious country or not so, it is also very interesting to learn many things about the history of many other countries, about the way of life in the past, about that how did they fought etc. But the geography is also something, which keep us gnawing- it shows us the world as we know it, it shows many different places all over the world and in out own country, we travel with the geography without needing any money or passports. Just open the book, read and watch the photos. that's why I like the geography and can't tell which one- the history or the geography I like the most :)

Because of my interest in the rest of the world, I was always more interested in geography than history, or atleast in my own country's history. I wanted to learn more about the rest of the world, so geography was always more interesting to me, than history was.

Hi icesmile!^^
I have always liked history. I'm also interested with geography because there's a lot of interesting and amazing places out there. But I like history more. I like learning things from the past, what had happened and why it happened, what caused it and what was the result.
When I was in high school, I didn't appreciate history though. I was more into Math and Science, and playing with friends and finding crushes. LOL And I guess, my terror teacher helped me lost interest with the subject too. ^^;; But when I went to college, that's where I started to appreciate history. It started with our country's history and just reading the books made me so excited. And this time, my professor was one of the factor that my interest grew more. He was a good teacher and good looking too. I was always inspired to do our homeworks and papers and all that. The country's history is just so rich and there's a lot to read about and learn. I actually became something like a teacher's pet. He would always praise me in class and tell my classmates that they should be serious like me. (He didn't know I was one of those who drool over him and made fun of him at the same time. LOL) In the end, I got the highest grade in that subject. ^.~

My Brother is at University doing a course to be a History Teacher. He has a History Degree and he has the unfortunate name of David Irving. If you know about Historians then you'll know that is not a good name to have given the beliefs of the famous Historian called David Irving.

I think History because it is the branch of knowledge dealing with past & events. It's like chronicle in the bible or interesting events in your life written in your dairy. Geography is difficult to study. In history, we learn the values & apply in our daily lives.

It's gotta be history, no doubt about it. I have always enjoyed history lessons when I was still schooling. In fact, even till now, I am still very much interested in history, because it never fails to fascinate me with all the various incidents and people that took place long before I was born. Geography, in contrast, is dull, hard and cold like a piece of rock. LOL! I've never developed a liking for Geography.

i think, if you like history, you must complement it with geography... history tells us of people, events, even places where such events happened and where people lived... only through geography can we pinpoint the particular place where history unfolded...

I liked Geography better because we always got to color maps and such. History for me was basically nap time and it really didn't interest me at all.

When I was in high school I didn't have a very good history teacher. She was always in a bad mood, and she didn't seem interested in the topics that we were talking about in class. I had the impression that she just wanted to get through the lessons, and her lack of enthusiasm affected my classmates and me. I found my geography lessons more interesting than my history lessons. I had a pretty good geography teacher and I have always been interested in other countries. I love travelling, and I always like to learn more about the different places around the world.

I like history. Because when i learn history i feel like i'm doing adventure to discover about life in the past. When my teacher taught me about the history, I always imagine that i was there, in the past. When i listen a story about life in the past, my brain starts to do imagination, imagine about that life. In history, there are too many mystery, and i really like to reveal a mystery.
