I have always wondered what is the difference between a burrito and soft taco? Are they defined only by the way they are wrapped or the filling also determines what it should be called. Is it the type of the covering?
Appreciate your answers on this.

i think burrito is like tex mex food( means american- mexican food) , and taco is very mexican , they look similar but burrito sometimes just have simliar stuff like eggs , and tacos add more meat in it.
In Mexico we can different kind of tacos.
Fried tacos, tacos al pastor, normal tacos but all of them are stuffed of meat 80%

Usually, a burrito is made from a larger tortilla than a soft taco. Tacos (at least the ones I make) are not usually filled with beans, where a burrito can be. Many times, a taco is made from ground meat, where a burrito is many times made from shredded meat.
I use the same seasoning blend when making burritos as I do when making tacos.

I guess the main difference is that the burrito has beans. A soft taco has meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and maybe onions or peppers if you want them. The burrito has beans with maybe a little meat mixed in and cheese. If you want you can get other stuff on it. I think that's the main difference.

The tortilla its self in a Burrito are much larger compared to tacos...usually. The fillings are different...bean and cheese burrito, chicken tacos. Chorizo and egg burrito...beef taco.I've had a seafood burrito which is completely different then fish tacos. Does that make sense? Burritos can also be served on a plate with a sauce over them, but a different sauce then an enchilada. We have great mexican food here in Texas. For breakfast at an athentic hole in the wall stand its never a breakfast burrito its called a breakfast taco.
