I got word this morning at 10:30am that my niece's water broke. She wasn't due until February 28th so I was really surpised, as I'm sure she was also! She is either 22 or 23 yrs old (I'm not entirely sure) so I know she had to be scared! My other niece sent me a picture with her and she was wearing an oxygen mask so I got really worried. I couldn't get answers from anyone until now. My sister called me and said she had the baby but the baby wasn't getting enough oxygen so she had to have the mask on. I am glad everyone is okay. I don't know how big the baby is yet because her mom & dad live in another state and her sister is away working in another state. This will be my 5th great niece/nephew, specifically my 3rd great nephew. I have a very large family and 3 of my nieces are older than me and the one who had the baby now is only a year or 2 younger than me. I now have a total of 7 nephews (including the great nephews) & 1 great nephew on the way (my other niece is 9 weeks pregnant), 7 nieces (including great nieces). Whew! For some reason, I feel like I left someone out lol. Ironically, my other niece has the same name as the one who just had a baby. Oh man this is just too hard to figure out now so I'm just gonna stop writing lol.

First of all, let me congratulate you for being an auntie again! That sure is a great blessing and I would love to have another niece/nephew as well. Anyway, regarding your niece's condition, were you able to ask them whether the pregnant woman is having high blood pressures? There is a tendency that the mother is experiencing eclampsia, but if not, it is really just time for the baby to come out from her womb, which is normal. The reason why she is given with an oxygen over the mask is because, 1st, the baby doesn't have enough oxygen since the bag of water has already broke which would aid in delivering all the necessary nutrients and oxygen to the baby. 2nd, since that the growing fetus or the baby in the womb is becoming larger and larger, there is a tendency that the oxygen cannot circulate properly since the tummy is suppressing the heart and lungs. Let us just all pray that she will be having a normal and safe delivery. Please update us about your niece's condition. Thanks! Take care and Godbless!

congratulations on being an aunt again. yes it does get confussing when you've got a big family who goes where in what relation they are to you. i was only 21 when i had my son. he's the eldest great grand son on my mums side, grandma was wondering when she was going to become a great grannie, i told her on her birthday and it made her real happy. expect for the fact the 2 of use that weren't married were having kids.
hope everything goes well.
