Donate for Money?!

I am just learning about plasma donation and I am being told that you can get paid $30 per donation and you can donate twice per week so thats $320 per month. I could do a lot with this kind of money. I just hope I am not getting my hopes up. Has anyone done this before? My appointment is not for another month so I am trying to find out what to expect.

I know that you can be paid for donating plasma, but I thought you could only donate like once every two weeks. I imagine they'll accept you if you're healthy, though I suppose supply and demand could be a factor (probably the recession has led more people to donate than normal). I've never given plasma for money myself -- unfortunately, the only places near me that accept donations don't pay for it (of course donating for free is a great thing too!).
