There are many reasons for back pain and knee pain.
Not maintaining correct postures while working and sleeping, lifting heavy waits, no warm ups before the games, lack of exercise and many more.
You need to bend at your knees when you lift anything and don't bend your back forward.

The early respondents here forgot to mention that "being an overweight person can cause to much pressure on your back bone and your knee bone". May I ask, did you gain some body weight recently?

Causes of back & knee pains:
1. It may be old age. Women start to feel back pains at the age of 45 and above, specially those that are in their menopause stage. Our bones start to become brittle, and house work normally speeds the pain.
2. It may be due to the food that we eat. Legumes are normally the culprit, specially if your uric acid is high.
3. It may be due to the bed that we sleep in. It would help a lot if you use an orthopedic mattress.
4. Lack of calcium intake.
5. Cold weather
