I find it hard to name just one book but I have just finished the series of books written by David Eddings called The Belgariad and The Malloreon, its a series of 10 books which I found very enjoyable and hard to put the books down. I am about to start on his next series of books called The Elenium, just waiting for them to arrive as I got them for a very good deal on Ebay.

That's a lot of books! The largest collection I ever read was the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. I loved them.

I agree that "1984" makes quite an impression, especially if you were reading in about 1966, way before the year of 1984. That is a book I read and never forgot.

I know what you mean. I read it before 1984, and I never forgot it. It makes me uneasy to see that some of it is coming true.

I liked the Harry Potter books too. I think they were very interesting and I especially liked having something to talk about with my teenage son, something we could share.

I am not going to limit it to one book. I am going to say anything by Karen Kingsbury. She is one awesome writer. I suggest reading one of her series. You will feel like you really do know the characters and are a part of the story.
