We have a very long class, from 7:30am-9:20am and 6:00pm-9:40pm. Usually, I become so sleepy at these times. What do you usually do if you are in my situation?

I actually have a class fridays from 6:00 pm to 8:45 and I do get sleepy at that time especially since I haven't been really sleeping well. I always make sure to take some coffee with me. I would be so embarrassed if I fell asleep during class but that hasn't happen to me yet. Thank god. But I suggest get some coffee that works for me.

Actually, coffee works for me before but now, it doesn't help that much anymore.

Do some finger exercise. I prefer playing with my iphone though but sometimes i will miss stuff. Coffee may work a few people but ultimately its your teacher's teaching ways thats the main reason. Its not that they are boring, just not that much interaction among students.

yeah, your right... there are some instructors that I really enjoy and I wouldn't mind staying long in their class but this particular instructor I have in the times I mentioned, I really have a problem with her.

I found this very dangerous for me. I tried it once, I drank 2 red bulls just to stay awake. After about an hour, my heart was palpitating like crazy, like it was trying to come out of my mouth.

i think you can chew some candy if it is allowed.. or maybe you can excuse to wash your face with fresh water.. it maybe usefull a little.. here is my experience when i was at school.. since elementary i never sleep in class. the first time i sleep in class is when i was in senior high school. it was physic lesson and my teacher's way of speaking is really boring.. and i slept at that time.. but i was really grateful that my teacher didnt notice me..

I would start passing notes for my friends. We would do a conference chat using paper.. And everyone is free to write any comments.. Sometimes we would draw out teachers face... yahahaha...

Hammer the thigh by my fist, It's very useful and that is what was I always do. Sometimes, I will try to look out of the window, which makes me excited. I strongly recommend you close your eyes for a while in the middle of the classes, when you didn't get enough sleep at night. The most important thing is you should concentrate yourself on the class. Have a good day!

For the entire morning just about every morning during my teenage years I suffered the same problem. Despite eating breakfast I wasn't getting enough to eat and my body didn't want to eat that early. Lunch was so far away too far away in my opinion seeing as how I had to choke down some type of cerial or something at 6 am, and ate lunch around 1140 Am. Little did I know it that was too long to go without eating. Anyway I was a vertual robot during my first few classes. And it was obvious to anyone who looked at me that I was tired. They just assumed of course I wasn't getting enough sleep or something, but I don't know I simply delt with it making up for it on weekends by sleeping in late.

I used to do this a lot of time back in college days because I usually have very late night sleep. What I usually do is I draw something or write a poem to pass the time or look at the faces of my classmates and then think of something funny (it sounds so mean but I am really enjoying it). I also have a great friend whom I can talk to and pass some funny notes while the lesson is on going.

hai athlon24!! it seems you are a student who was studying hard, do not imagine if i faced a situation like you, I think you are so tired. I also seem to be a sleep in class, let alone you study in the morning until night. keep the spirit of a friend :)

Back to my college days.. when I get sleepy, I usually talk to my seatmate or draw something in my notebook.. anything that can divert my attention. If all else fails, I pinch myself to the point that I can't bare the pain. ^_^ It's very effective.

I think sleep is not good solution, when we are in study, one hand we are accept knowledge the other hand,we have help classmate each other. Every coin has two sides,in class ,you have to improve their ,an then have get friendly,so i think in class is good time.I like it! I hope you will treasure. Best wishes

i feel sleepy during the afternoon session. i purposefully sit in back benches and start disturbing others in front of us if the class is boring. its just the way to stay away from the sleepy class.

It's been a while since I attended class. I remember that whenever I get sleepy in a very long (and boring) class I usually just eat gum or candy. Drawing on the back of my notebook also helps in countering the sleepiness.

The best way really is to recite whenever the teacher asks some questions
