here, i would like to tell you all of them, that we are using laptops preferably, inspite of desktops because in recent era, laptops are comes in forefront because of its mobility, low space, 3hrs of power backup and lots of inbuilt features, that we could not expect from any desktops from any perspectives, although i don't have any objection to say about that laptops, notebooks are quite better than desktops, but in last few time some desktops manufacturing companies introducing some additional and innovative features same like any good laptops like high resolution camera,
internal optical drive, internal cpu like lappy, inside monitor except keyboards and mouse, these type of desktops are presented by apple, dell and hp etc

yea you are right now a days Laptops have become more reliable and more easy to use, which has every thing in one piece dont have to deal with too many cables , doesnt consumes space compared to desktop, above all you can work while you are travelling connecting to the data card for internet. it also costs less when compared to 4 or 5 years back.
but still there are few things which make people to stick to desktop for high end system when you are running more graphic intence applications (Like mechanical software, movie editing application etc) and for application where user connects a lot of gadgets to the system for their job.
thanks to morse's law and the technology for making computers more user friendly.

i have a laptop and a desk top i would go with the desktop in the house and a laptop on the move ,in my mind i think a laptop is easy to use than a desk top because with a laptop it is a finished product ,but you have to pay for that, and you must remember my desk top is more powerful than my laptop and there is more room to make it more still, it has four slots for mememory upgrade each slot take 2 gigs of memory .

on the laptop desk top subject i dont think laptop are realiy built to last like a desk top pc ,i would always go with a desktop because if it go wrong it is very easy to fix desk tops ,at the moment i am having problems with my desktop pc and i have fixed the problem it was the power supply ,remember pc desktop parts are cheap you can evern buy second hand parts ,laptop parts are more expensive and harder to get

what you must rembember about laptops is that they a limited in there power because of the size of the componets of a laptop, take mine my lap tops has four gigabits of memory that is the maximuim it can take ,but it is ok for now but in a few years it will not be enough ,remember 1.5 gigabit was enough 6 7 years ago now it is not ,ilike laptops but if you can afford both laptop and desktop pc go for that ,have both and am happy with that

I had a desktop computer from 1999 to 2005 with dial up Internet. Then in 2005 I moved so had my desktop computer with broadband Internet. I kept it until 2007 when I got my laptop. I really like my laptop because it doesn't take up much space and it is portable. I can use it in any room in my house. I still have it and it is now 2010. I also have a net book which is ideal for life when on the move. I an 100% happy with laptops and I wouldn't ever go back to having a desktop computer.
