Hello, Though I am not sure I have understood your problem completely but I would like to say this much, all the new versions of motherboards is much more power hungry. I mean the older SMPS is unable to drive the newly released motherboards. After I literally roasted my motherboard, I bought a new one. This one doesn't support anything old. It supports DDR2 Ram, only SATA HDD etc. The power requirements are high, so I had to buy a new SMPS along with it. Take care

Now I understand your problem quite clearly. So what about the software and operating system. Do you explore your OS quite often?

Hello, I too believe that without visual enhancements there is a little difference there. Though I don't use those OS myself, I think that Windows Vista has a stronger security checking mechanism. I mean it has better control not only over the external traffic but it also effectively monitors internal traffic. Don't know if that is true at all. I have to use them myself to get to a definite conclusion. Thanks for the response God bless you

Are you sure that there is nothing you can do about it? I mean isn't there any option to prevent those pop-ups from appearing every now and then?

Its true that it is safer but the pop-ups are annoying.

Sometimes my computer will run slow when I'm trying to get a lot accomplished in a short ammount of time. Quite often if I have a streek of good luck bad usually isn't that far behind. Right now my pc is running fast on this site, but its taking forever for me to pay my phone bill.

Hello, Do you mean that your computer is slow in doing everything or, is it slow only when you connect to internet and try to surf some particular website? If your computer is running slow no matter what you do, that essentially means you have unnecessary services running on your PC. If you are having problem just in surfing the internet you should read this page http://selflearners.wordpress.com/2008/08/12/56k-dial-up-tweaks/ to get optimum performance for internet access. Read this article http://selflearners.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/xp-performance-boost/ if the overall performance is getting slow. I think these resources will be useful to you. Thanks for such a detailed response Take care God bless you

Hi, Sorry for being so late. Actually I didn't get any notification. Or, probably I missed it. I think you have a RAM problem. If you have two slots for RAM, then please remove one of these and try to run your PC with single slot. A blue screen error doesn't show up only because of the hardware problem. Sometimes some critical malfunction in software may cause this error. Thanks for your participation. God bless you
