I want to ask opinions from fellow friends. I bought a laptop Acer last few month. Starting the month of October, the laptop seems to malfunctions. The problems is, the battery is not charging correctly when plugged with ac adapter. I sent the laptop for repair, and they told me the media board,( by the way there is a touch panel on the right hand side, where user can change the volume), is the one causing the problem. And they changed it. The laptop works fine for a couple of weeks, and the problems start again. And yet again they told me its the same problem.
Personally i don't believe the media board is the main problem. If there is anyone out there experiencing the same problem, can you share with me. Or perhaps can anyone suggest a solution? I hate going back to the service centre, it seems to me that they don't have a clue what's wrong with the laptop. One of my friends said to me, it MIGHT be the power adapter, but yet, i haven't try that suggestion. I still want to get more suggestion. Anyone?

It sounds like it could well be your power supply unit. Was your laptop brand new when you bought it or secondhand? If it's secondhand then chances are it's quite old. One good rule in relation to laptops and batteries is, when you are at home, only use the power supply and remove the battery. By doing this you don't wear out your battery. If you don't want to rely on the power supply then by all means charge the battery to full capacity and then disconnect the power supply and then rely on the battery. Is this the only problem you have been experiencing with your laptop? Chances are you may need to replace the power supply unit. Good luck. Andrew

Actually its a brand new laptop. Bought it first hand. The battery works fine, but the power is not. Whenever i use power with the battery in placed, the power seems not charging, the battery i mean. It seems, although i plugged the power adapter, and switch on, i am using the laptop using the battery. The funny thing is, if i take off the battery, i noticed that I CAN NOT use the power adapter to switch on the laptop. It blinks for awhile and then it turned off.
