Do you feel pressure to act a certain way?

As a little kid I was a tomboy. I played football, I wrestled with boys, and I got really, really dirty. My grandmother hated that. She always told me to sit up, stay clean, and act like a lady. I got this my whole life, she still tells me that I shouldn't do things like clean the eavetroughs or say certain things because I am a girl, and girls shouldn't do or behave a certain way. My brother says he also had people tell him to toughen up, or be a man when he didn't want to play football, and instead wanted to cook. Are you pressured to act more feminine or masculine? Have you conformed to the pressure, or rebelled? What are some whacky stories about your experience? I can say I have felt pressure to conform, and tried a couple times, but that didn't work, and now I am more likely to rebel when people tell me to act like a lady.
