Boy, these children sure tell it the way they are feeling it.
This morning Cary said to me, "you are the worst mom."
Huh? What's that all about?
"Cary, why am I the worst mom?"
"Because you wake us up for school."
Aha...
"Cary, if I make brownies tonight will I be the best mom?"
"Yeah! You're the best mom!."
I know how to work them...

It's great to see you have quite a cute boy!How old is Cary?
When I was a boy,I mean a boy less than 10 years old,I sad the same words like Cray because my mother didn't buy a toy for me:)She was angry and after 1 min I realize myself made a huge mistake.
Good day with your kids!

Oh my goodness that was a great laugh. I laughed pretty hard that my hubby said what. So I told him that a friend of mine put a discussion up about what her daughter said. So I told him what she said and he chuckled. Man children these days can come up with the strangest things to say anymore. Well good luck with those brownies.

It is funny to hear what a child thinks. Things are so simple with them. I bet tonight you will be the best mom.

Same with my wife, my boy always told that she is the worst mom in the world cause she usually woke him up in the morning for school, otherwise if she asked him to go with her for fun or shop, he always smile and said that his mom a pretty and best mom in the world.....what's a nice boy ?!?

Haha! I enjoyed that little conversation as it's always about knowing what the young ones really like that you're armed with bullets you can fight back with when they're spitting at you. Honestly, children are very straightforward and to not be taken seriously when complaining. I have a few niece and nephew to my dismay had me in silence until I realized I'm not so easily fooled. LOL When they figured out I was picking up on their rant, well the table spins my way.

Hey dawn! Congrats on being the best mom ever! Brownies will do
it every time! I think that your son is a real character! Does
he maybe take after his mommy?lol I remember when my mom used
to wake me up for school! I wanted to kill her! She used to
SING me up and she couldn't sing for sh1t! There was nothing
more obnoxious than that! So tell Cary he does have the best
mom ever and he should be very glad! Tell him Opal said so!

LOL ...I have been hearing it now from the past so many years. My younger daughter still says that to me when she is angry with me for some silly reason.Th other day I told her 'what if I said the same thing to you' and she said 'yes, plz do go ahead...'....

That reminds me of the time my older daughter said something mean to me and I made up a phony sad face and said, "I'm going to cry." Her response? "Cry mom, cry."

I agree with you nyhollyjean. The order become bigger as they grow taller. As parents, they make us feel guilty if we can't come up with what is asked. When my son started working he pestered me to pay for the deposit of a new car. My dilly dally tactic did not work well, thinking he will soon get over and forget about it but he is worse than the credit card company who keep calling for payment regardless of the time. In the end I have to dig deeper inside my pocket to find what ever I can give just to keep his mouth shut.

Sometimes they are. That stuff doesn't work as well when they become teenagers though.

Guilty as charged! I used to say things like this to my mom. If she cooks deliciously, I'd say she's a good mom, and if she has this I can't be bothered attitude, I'd say she's a bad mom. Now that I've seen it on others, I feel guilty. Hee..but it was more like a joke type. I think I see that part of Cary in me definitely.

This is so funny. My 4 yr. old is in this phase and I actually am having a hard time not laughing at her at times. The other day I was "horrbibl" because I made carrots for dinner and not the green beans she wanted. Yet was a "purrfect" this morning because I let her watch an extra show on TV. It's amazing how their likes can vary....

Funny, I don't get called names when I cook stuff they don't like. I just have to listen to a lot of whining!

My little one is very dramatic. The type where she is crying " I'm gonna die" because she stubbed her toe.
