Love to drive long distance especially on pleasure trips not business and in the summer not winter because Canadian winter is bitter cold and dangerous when there's ice and/or snow on the roads. Whenever there is a trip planned for, I really like to wake up real early in the morning around 4:30 or 5am, take a nice shower to freshen, get ready and go. The very first thing I like to do is to stop by a coffee shop with a drive-thru (I am lazy lol!), pick up a nice hot coffee then hit the road. That early morning driving makes me feel wonderful. My longest trip was driving 1,600km one way, one shot, start from 4am and arrive at 9:30pm, 17.5 hours driving including short stops for gas, take-out foods and bath rooms.

Really fantastic experience, you have lots of courage & stamina to drive continuously those 1600 kms, my 1000 salutes. My longest one was 780 kms on Royal-en-field Bullet M/cycle some 20 years back,on hilly & serpentine road, with chases by pair of Cobras, one panther & a tiger.
I too draw lots of pleasure in starting early. But when you start at 5am and reach some dear buddy's place by 8 after driving 200kms, you give him early morning shock.
Wonderful memories sometimes, of 'Some times'.

I don't drive, i don't know how to and i don't have a car yet. haha, but there was this day when i went on a road trip with my family for two days consecutive!
It was a Sunday when me and my family drove a long way to go to the beach. since my mom's not a big fan of overnights and expenses we managed to go home that very same day. and my poor dad, since they're separated still have to drive back to wherever he was staying that time. then the next day, (roughly hours after we got home) he fetched me again early in the morning, and it was like he invited to me to go to the other end of the world in a heart beat. the only bad thing about it, is that my brother tagged along. haha. but it was another long drive.
i enjoyed it, because it's not everyday that you could do something like that. i loved the view, the experience, it's priceless. :)
