I got my cat called snug years ago, she was so cute! I let her have a litter and everything was fine, as time went on she started getting more and more friendly with my next door neighbour cath. Eventually, she stopped coming home because she was all snug next door, I think she got addicted to the cigarette smoke because she smokes nxt door!!

Aww thats so sad about her leaving you for the neighbor next door. If it was me, I'll feel like my partner just dumped me for someone else, I'll be that sad.
I had a cat that ran away too. Owh I miss him so much. he came to visit once a while, and before we know it, he had a collar that was not ours. And after a while he totally disappeared.
Smoke from smoking is bad for humans or cats, and I hope she is not addicted. Try to coax her back home. I don't think anyone who smokes around cats deserve to take care of them.
P.s snug is such a cute name! :D

Cats are such unique creatures! Maybe she sensed that your neighbor needed her more than you did. Cats are far more independent than dogs and have strong likes and dislikes. Perhaps your neighbor feeds her tuna..ya never know!
I have 1 cat that loves all men but not so much women. No idea why. I've had her since she was 7 weeks old and she's devoted and so sweet to me. She'll even wash my hand an groom me like a mother cat if I let her. I got her fixed so she's never had kittens.
If a male comes into the house, she'll trot over and make friends but if a female, she's wary off the mark. Hmmm...her Vet is a female now that I think of it maybe there is a connection there.
Did something change in your routine, a new roommate? a new girlfiend? There could be so many reasons. I sense you are sad about it and maybe you should think about getting another cat since what happened to you is fairly unusual from what I know of cats! Take care!!

It isn't any reflection on you. The lady next door could be giving your cat some food she likes, extra attention, or the neighbor and her way of life.
It's like a cat I had. He loved it here, but he disappeared for quite awhile and my boyfriend informed me that the cat was living up at a neighbors house. The cat decided that although he loved me, these people needed him more, so he moved. He is very happy there as they spoil the daylights out of him plus he fills a need that they have for a companion animal. They had to put their dog down about four years ago and they were lonesome for a companion animal.

Tbh i think you need to get your cat back...! Lol!
My next door neighbor is my Grandma.. and my cats absolutely adore walking in and out, and lounging about next door. My grandma tries to throw them out alot of the time though, as they don't BELONG in her house obviously... Haha.

I don't think that was the case, I would bet she gets something next door that she doesn't get at your house. Remember your cat does not consider all you have done for her, she feels that is her due. She just finds that your neighbor's home is a better place than yours. Maybe it's just the other cat that she loves.

I've always heard that cats don't get chosen by us, they chose us. I'm guessing your cat had taken a liking to your next door neibor. Perasonally I don't let my cats go in and out like that. I've had things happen to previous cats, so I keep them indoors. This also solves the problem of them getting away.
