Yes. I am! I've waited for a long time to be a grandma. Jon-Saxton was born on Friday, January 22. He was due on February 3, but they said he was little at the Dr appointed the day earlier, so they wanted her to check in so they could keep the two monitored. The following day, baby's heart rate was staying down after contractions, and Dr. decided to do a c. Baby weighed 5.3, He's beautiful, precious, all that!
Marianna had a rough times and had to stay in the hospital a few days, but they're both fine.

Congrats!!
Its altogether a different feeling to be a grandparent - completely different from being a parent; I became a grandfather 4 -5 years back and then again 2 years back - when my elder daughter gave birth to 2 lovely girls; and I flew down to Switzerland with my wife and younger daughter( we stay in India while she stays in Zurich)and visited her & family and I came back with my younger daughter but my wife stayed behind for about 6 months with my daughter to assist her - it was really a great feeling and the fun seeing your grandchildren grow up - and now she is here for 2 months as we missed them a lot.
It is really exciting to be around with grandchildren and I wish the grandchildren can be closer to us so that we can visit them as much as we want.

Oh, that 's so precious, but it's sad that you can't visit them whenever you want, which is probably everyday. I couldn't imagine not being close to my daughter and her baby. I know so many people are in your shoes.

It is great that you can see them for that length of time. You can do alot of catching up in that time, can't you.

thanks for your feelings- but it is better and more fun when you see them once in a while- because that time you see all the progress they have made - and as I said when we meet them it is always for a stretch of 3-4 months so that makes up for the loss in daily meetings!!

I'm so happy for you that your baby is doing great now! Wow, I told my daughter yesterday that I didn't want her to get pregnant again. I know she will, but oh my goodness how difficult it was to see her go through all that. There were complications. If your blood pressure ever gets high during pregnancy be sure to let the doctor know. That can cause your baby to be small.

Congratulations Grandma. Also congratulations to the babies Mum and Dad. I am going to be a Grandma to our first Grandson (have Grand daughters) in May and Grandad is already looking at train sets! They are all so precious though and in this day and age it is nice to be involved in a Grandchilds life as you hear of so many that are not allowed to be.
Hope you enjoy Grandmahood. x

Oh my goodness. I know how you guys are feeling like now. Wow! It just didn't seem real until I actually saw Marianna going through labor. I just stare at that little face all the time. It's just so unbelieivable, but real seeing that little tiny body that favors everybody a little bite depending on facial expressions.
I'm so happy for you. Congratulations!

Congratulations!! There is nothing like having a new baby around! Esp. one you get to spoil and send home to Mom & Dad!! I live 2000 miles away, but when I go home to see my granddaughter, I spoil her rotten! She is now 5 years old and coming out (with her Mother)this August to go to Disneyland with me ( and Grandpa, of course.
Can you tell that i am excited? But back to you--do you live close? I pray that you have many years of being with her and making lots of memories!! Congrats again!!

I live about 11 miles from them. I'm going over this evening. I have been spending some nights to give my daughter a rest. Her husband is real good about helping when he's home but he leaves for work at 5, so my daughter doesn't want him to have to get up at night. He drives 2 hours each way. Wow, my best friend lives 2000 miles away from her grandaughter and flies out twice a year. I had to double look and see who I was responding to. Bless you!

Wow congrats! I am not yet married, but my sister is married with one son. My nephew now is 11 years old. I just remember when he was born. I had never seen a newborn until he was born and as i have no brothers (we`re all sisters-i am the youngest of two), after my nephew was born, sometimes i thought he`s my little brother. How excited my parents to have their first grandson (and my nephew is also the first grandchild to my sister`s mm-in law family). My nephew has been living with us since he was a baby and it is soooo fun to have little kid at home. Now he` growing up. Hopefully i can get married soon and have a baby too:)

It is fun to have a little one around. This one doesn't do much yet. We mostly can only look at him right now and see how adorable he is.

Wow!Congratulations! for having a beautiful and precious grandson.he will add on happiness to your family and i'm very sure of that.I remember the first time i gave birth to my daughter, gee ..my mother was so protective of her that even her father can not carry her for a long time cause she's afraid that her granddaughter will get hurt.I just like to suggest that you should not be over protective but of course still be loving to your grandson.Enjoy your days with Jon.

Thank you so much. I can see that you are very understanding. The way you say the mother is, that 's the way the daddy is in this case. He's sooo protective. I plan to really enjoy my days with him. I will be babysitting and doing my homejob at their house everyday. PRAY for me!

That's great. That's great. I've waited for a grandchild so long. I can't play with him yet,but I can stay up with him for my daughter, or feed him and change his clothes. He crieis for a minute (or less) when hewants fed or diaper changed, but that's the only time he cries. He's doing great right now in that area too.
Blessings.
