How has the spread of communications technology affected cultures around the world?Assess the extent to which the internet is a medium for Western culture alone.

I began traveling when I was a teenager. I was 20 years old when I traveled around the world. I wrote letters and they took one week to go from Australia to the United Kingdom. These days I send emails and have been able to use my mobile phone as far away from my home country as Mexico. The Internet is very popular in developed countries like the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Computer companies have businesses in India for customers in the United Kingdom. Many Indian people work in such businesses speaking on the telephone and using the Internet. The Internet has influenced some of the cultures in the world. The Internet has made international travel easier. Many destinations have become spoiled having had tourism at odds with the culture. The Amazon River is a fragile area where some tribes live. Such people are best to stick with their tradition than gain Western ideas.

The media of mass communication is making this world shrink to a closely connected community. The bridge between continents is fast becoming loose....good signs

It made us more aware of how certain cultures are. During the old days, we just read about other people and places. With the internet, we can now communicate with them and experience it first hand.
