If there was a presidential debate, who among the candidates will shine?

The race is on. As more political aspirants vie for the public's vote, the more political ads and other election materials can be seen in and around the nation. As the election comes near, voters are courted by by catchy jingles, promises of a better future.
But I have yet to see a presidential aspirant present his platform on how he intends to deliver these promises. I guess I could find out if I really wanted to but I wish that it could be readily available for most Filipinos of voting age. And I am aware that presidential debates have been conducted in the universities and some have been aired on TV but with not much publicity.
I think that there should be an official debate among presidential aspirants, with all of them in attendance and I think that it should be aired on all local channels and also aired simultaneously on the radio. To give the Filipinos what they need to decide on a better candidate, information.
I am so looking forward to that, it should be revealing to watch that. Who among them will earn the audience' respect and who will end up scratching their heads?

I would have to still admit though that if Gibo is not affiliated with GMA, I will vote for him if my basis of votes is based from his answers in presidential forums but the basis of my vote is the overall qualification of the candidate which is why I am voting for Richard Gordon, not only is he really great in answering in debates and forums but also because his track record is amazing. He has already proven himself by holding both legislative and executive offices and truth be told, he is the only one who has been truly a hands-on leader among the presidential candidates.

Yes, it does makes us wonder what would be the payment for GMA's blessing. Which makes us doubtful of voting for Gibo. It's like a vote for Gibo would translate to a vote for GMA, and I don't see many people loving GMA right now. I think that most people would be so relieved to see GMA step down.
I am also considering Gordon and Bayani's tandem. I think that they are a great pair, both with experience and accomplishments.

yeah.. i have to agree with you.. voting for gibo would count as a waste and a vote for gma.. its a shame that he would be connected with gma since he is a good person and would be a good leader if he would step out of his shell and be independent.. but then maybe he lacks experience thats why maybe he chose to side with one who has experience.. but then again he should have chosen other people but why gma..

Based from the first one I saw on TV I was impressed with Gibo Teodoro, but I think being linked with GMA administration makes him an unpopular presidential candidate. he amongst other are very fluent when answering questions as well. Next would be Villar and Gordon. I think these two are used to debating.

Yep, seems that being an administration party bet is working against Gibo. He does seem to be a classic statesman, may potential talaga eh. And he has charisma too.
Personally I haven't made my choice yet, and now I realize how difficult it is to be a voter. I mean, the responsibility that your choice has, if you take it seriously, can be overwhelming. Does anyone have a suggestion for a criteria for picking the right candidate?

I have not seen a presidential debate in full. There was only one time that I got to see it only for a few minutes. What I noticed is that it was Gibo Teodoro who showed calmness in answering questions. As usual, Erap at times could not understand the question. Gordon is really a traditional politician that involves his gift for public speaking. Noynoy was ok. Among the candidates that I had seen, it was Gibo for me who shinned. But of course, it was only a few minutes that I got to watch. I hope to one day watch a debate in full.

I expect it to be Gibo and Gordon. Well, both are top notch lawyers. But i'm really impressed how Gibo answers questions. You can really see why he was a bar topnotcher based on how he answer questions even in a very limited time. Next is Gordon, you can really feel his conviction in his answers. But don't get me wrong, i admire these two not because i will vote for them but because they're good at what they do, debating. I was able to witness how good these guys are during an ABS CBN sponsored presidential debate. Adding to the attraction was Erap who only manage to make fun of himself.

So Gibo seems to know the ways in and about the law and the constitution, makes me even more distrustful of Gibo. Lawyers tend to be evasive and they tell you what you want to hear and smartly evade an uncomfortable question. Gibo does have the head for politics but what about the heart for public service?
I didn't realize that Gordon is a lawyer, I should definitely start and learn more about him as I am seriously considering voting for him.

Yeah Gordon was my first choice. I made that decision based on how he answer questions. That guy really know how to give answer that we want to hear. But now i'm considering Bro Eddie when he was a guest in one of the morning radio show. He is not that well articulated if you compare him to Gibo or Gordon but i reconsidered voting for him when i realized that almost all of those running for the president have been around politics for so long, now they're making promises again. Well, at least for Gordon, i can him give credit for what he did to Angeles.

i havent been politically updated as of late.. but i think teodoro would be promising in a debate.. since he (in my opinion) is very intelligent among the others.. but i dont like his stand since he is linked with pgma.. if he is smart he should disband with them asap so that he has a good chance of winning.. id rather go for him or aquino in the elections.. but since he has no chance of winning if he is on pgma's side, id go for noynoy.. but still im not yet sure..

me neither.. i didnt like his answer regarding the question.. he should think about the concern of the filipino people and not only for pleasing gma.. its not right.. and yeah i guess if he wins it would be a huge step forward for the current admin.. since he is on their side..

Yes indeed the race is on! I agree, although there were aired debates of political candidates this 2010 election yet still it does not make everybody aware of their platforms. Therefore, continually airing their platforms and their ends in morning and evening slots would preferably helping the young and passive people of our country to choose THE RIGHT ONE.
I know it's very hard to choose from the charismatic, intelligent, wise and bullhorn characters of the aspirants. But for me having great faith in God with knowledge of public service and Love for our country are the important matters to be considered in choosing THE RIGHT ONE. Who's gonna be my ONE? ahmm..preferably not Gibo and those who are in administration party...

Still undecided myself but I definitely am sure that I won't be shading any circle beside Gibo's name this coming elections.
I think that a good question to ask one's self is "Who has served the public more and not themselves or their own families?".javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$btSubmit','')
