Telling Lie

I feel that telling lie is not a bad thing but you should not lie always. What I mean is you can tell lie only when you are in difficulties. You should not lie to any one without any reason.
One day, my friend was about to propose a girl. He asked me how he looked. In that type of situation, I couldn't tell that he looked bad at any cost because if I had told him, it would hurt him a lot and he would never propose that girl. But in simpler situations you must not lie.
I hope you all could understand what I told. If you understood, was it helpful to you? Please respond to this discussion but don't lie because this is a simpler situation and nothing will go wrong if you tell a lie.

It is very difficult to see person who never tells a lie in his whole life.I do lie and as such I only lie when I really need to.In situation we have to tell lie to escape from some serious problems.There is nothing wrong in telling lies,if it not hurt any one.

Small lies which help us in our day to day dealings are not bad at all, rather they show us to be pragmatic and how to save ourselves in tricky situations. But lies which harm others, especially if we lie with the specific purpose of cheating others, then that is bad.
