What would be of importance to you if this were your last day on earth?

Do you live as if you were to die tomorrow? That was the wise advice of Mahatma Gandhi, but few perhaps understood his meaning. What is important in your life? One of the best ways to see this clearly is to consider where our thoughts will be when we take our last breath on this earth. More likely than not, at that instant, disagreements, bills, petty annoyances, and other frustrating elements of our lives will no longer appear as important as they once did. Thoughts of loved ones and the positive impact we had on the world would no doubt occupy our remaining thoughts. Whatever we imagine ourselves musing upon during our last breath will almost always be representative of what truly matters to us.
This simple exercise introduces us to a new way of thinking. While our attention is drawn momentarily to the end of life, our contemplations serve to point out that we are masters of our own perspective and, consequently, our own existence. There is nothing preventing us from shifting our focus right now as we imagine we will in our final moments. We can choose to spend more of our time and energy on what gives our lives meaning. We can spend more time with loved ones and do more of what we enjoy. Doing so may not always prove easy, and there will inevitably be times when circumstances interfere with our resolution, yet we do not have to regard this as an indication that our priorities are not in alignment with who we really are.

hi pose123! If today was my last day on Earth, the most important thing to me will be that, are relatives and beloved ones are feeling well and what are they doing, because my family and my beloved ones are the most important things/persons to me and I want to know that they are well and they don't miss a thing! I am not such a religious person and i don't hope that I will go to heaven, but if there is really such place somewhere I will want to go there, because it will be nice to live happy ever after. And maybe that will be also the second thing about what I will thing in my last day on Earth- "is there heaven?" !!!

If I knew that today it was my last day on earth I will dedicate it completely to my close family and friends. I just have a chat or call my closest friends and prefer to stay with my wife and my son during my final hours. I feel secure and safe with them. Sometimes I feel that I do lack from giving them enough attention with the excuse of work. I would make sure that I have good quality time from now on.

Well said. If this were my last day on earth, I would be busy making plans with my pups God parents so to be assured that my dog is going to be well taken care of in my absence. That she will be provided the comfort she will need in order to get over the fact that I would no longer be in her life.
That would be my number one priority.
I would want to get a few more things in order such as my will and bills. First.
Then i would be all good to go. i would want to talk to my family. I would want to be left alone with my pup. I would be expecting peace and quiet so to leave peacefully.

I will teach my sons how to manage everything in my absence. Whatever information that I must pass on to them will be passed on to them. Every second will be precious. I will work with optimal efficiency and try to complete as much work as possible to get my sons well settled in life.

I would spent every minute of it with my family, satisfied that I get to spend these precious moments with them. Realizing that what's really important in our lives is the people around us, the people we share our lives with. It is true that we could easily be sidetracked by all distractions that the material world can offer, but we do have to realize that there is no better time than now to let the people we care for most realize what they truly mean to us.

If I were to only live one more day, I would be so sure to do everything I ever wanted to do. I would apologize to all the people I've always wanted to apologize to, but had too much pride to. I would tell people who've hurt me how I really feel, actually stand up for myself. I'd tell everyone how much I cared about them. It would be a big, tell-all. I tend to keep how I really feel to myself, so I'd make sure to be honest with everyone.

If this were my last day on earth, I would wnt to spend the time with my husband and my family, going to all the places that we enjoyed, and just being together enjoying eachother's company.

Well not exacly like it was my last day but maybe year. I hug and kiss my husband and son and daughter every day I also tell them I love them a lot. My girl (9 months) probably thinks her name is I love you :). If this was my last day I would ask my family what they wanted to do and do it so they can remember me doing what they liked the most I dont care what that is. I live for my kids my life is theirs from the moment they were born what I do I do for them and thats what makes my life complete and happy.

If the day is my last day, I want to be with my family, but I don't want they gonna be sad.
I didn't think about this before, now I'm thinking. From now on, if I'm angery or argue with somebody, especially my families, I will say to myself that's no big deal, the important things is we're together and love each other.
