Oh, tell your big baby that milk makes him grow taller and beautiful or handsome. Or if he likes certain cartoon character, tell him, it will make him strong just like that cartoon. Sometimes, it workds.

He watches Elmo and Curious George. Neither of them are very bone strong :) Plus it doesn't seem like he understands just yet.

I make breakfast smoothies to get all kinds of different nutrients into my 3 yr old. Bananas for sweetness and potassium, blueberries, yogurt, some ground flax, all kinds of stuff. Be warned though, mixing blueberries and chocolate results in a really foul colored concotion! And if texture is an issue, keep the mixture thin with a bit of milk, water, or juice, and blend it really well. Broccoli is also a great source of calcium. The trick is to present your child with options.

oh wow this is a great idea. I should try making milk shakes or something. Great thing you do with the flax. I hear that's really good for you.

Well have no fear, another mommy is here,LOL. Actually my girls were having the same problem and when I asked my doctor, she gave me the simplest answer I could have come up with. She told me to just add flavor to the milk, chocolate or strawberry milk powder. She told me that Nesquickhad added calcium so it is actually good for children, especially for those who refuse to drink milk. I tried it out and my girls loved it. Now I make certain that we have a little on hand all the time and whenever they get choosy, I just add some chocolate. Hope that helps.

I do put flavored powders but still he doesn't seem to take more than 2 sips. I'm so worried that he isn't getting the necessary nutrients that milk gives. He's become a juice lover. V8 spalsh he'll drink 2 bottles a day.

I felt worried too when my son did not like drink milk at 13 months old but I still feed him.Once time,my friend visited us and she was taken her kid.her kid was drink milk from the bottle and he really enjoy. My kid try to drink the bottle.First,he still did not like.He try twice, third and since the time,he want to drink milk. Maybe your kid have no meet yet the taste of the milk or he does not like bottle or the glass. You can looking for some foods that contain the calcium.

I do also give him orange juice with calcium but I wonder if the vit d in milk is the most essential also. I'll keep trying.

Try putting chocolate or strawberry syrup in it.... You could make it even funnier by making milkshakes for your child that way you could add bananas, chocolate, strawberry or other things they may be lacking.

There are many different alternatives to milk like soy drink, oat milk or rice milk. Even nut milk is available. I suggest puddings with lots of calcium and added vitamins. My baby girl likes vanilla soy pudding and it is similar to milk. You could add milk in your cooking so it is hidden possibly. You could try flavored milks. Good luck getting your little one to build strong bones.
