writing environment

my boyfriend told me he read that steven king claimed that everyday he would turn off everything in his house, sit down and write five pages. personally i cannot even think about writing in complete silence. i prefer having the music on, something that puts me in the mood of whatever i am writing. how about you? what conditions do you do your best writing in?

Writing is a task which requires complete peace of mind, however activities like light music can act as stimulant for a more productive and creative writing.
