It's good in omelets or meat pies, on pizza and in bread. I used to bake bread for my now ex-husband that had sausage and cheese in it and it was delicious! Of course, drain and rinse the sausage before you use it so you don't get all that nasty and unhealthy fat. It's also a nice change from hamburger or meatballs in spaghetti sauce.

I mix sweet Italian sausage with hamburger and put it in my spaghetti sauce. Then I don't have to add so many spices. I also use sausage for breakfast. I make sausage patties. I also mix sausage into my meatloaf. I tend to mix sausage with other meats.

Mix it with some Paxo, form it into balls and eat it with a roast dinner.
Sausage casserole. Mine consists of sausage meat, onions and tinned tomatoes but it's a casserole, put what you fancy in with it.
Use it instead of minced beef in a Cornish pasty.
That'll do, enjoy your sausage meat.

I have been reading all the posts with great interest. I love sausages, cheese, and absolutely adore tomato puree, NOT tomato sauce, - big yuk, too much vinegar, but probably tomatoe puree in with pasta or spaghetti with sausage meat shaped into meatballs. But my absolute fave would be sausage flattened out, grilled, in a wholemeal bread or roll with brown sauce for brekkies. Simple but a great meal.

A friend of mine told me about this awhile back, it was so simple i really wondered if it would be good so i made it & it was very good. I know we aren't suppose to put recipes on here so i don't want to get in trouble. all it has in it is a pound of sausage, cream cheese & a tube of crescent rolls. If u want details u can pm me.

surely, there are a lot of replacements for meat in stuffing sausage. i've tasted sausages made from purely organic materials like beans, mushrooms, banana and/or potato, and they really taste good. of course, meat has a different taste, but if the choice is for health food stuff, these replacement sausages can really be good, and healthful too... you can even just steam them and avoid that fat that goes with frying....

hi pikey yawn gape its early here oh its 8 oclock but for some reason I am still yawning. any way I have come across several really ,to me anyway, different sausages that are made with soy particules and maple syrup, or soy pieces that are supposed to taste like beef, emphasis on supposed, with apple, well these two were really gross tasting. I have used and enjoyed the soy pieces that taste a lot like lean hamburger but these sausages lacked something, perhaps good flavor perhaps real meat? I have never ate a sausage roll but they sound delicious, I like beef sausage or a combo of beef and pork, we also have chicken and turkey sausages which again do not taste like real sausage to me. I call them el yucko sausage. I think my naughty streak came out this morning when I read your title and I thought oh no, oh come pikey don't go there then of course common sense did intervene and I read all of your discussion. do you not hate it when p eople answer only to your title and not to your discussion so you know they did not read the discussion. lol

Let's see...
- Breakfast Sausages
- Farmer Sausage (Pork with Beef)
- Hot and Spicy Sausage (w Cayenne)
- Honey Garlic Sausage
- Oktoberfest Sausage
- Kolbassa, is that a sausage?
Personally, I like the Breakfast Sausage the best, but they have to be lean. In fact, I never liked sausage before I started taking my pigs to this one butcher. My husband made me try one, and I actually liked it. I called him immediately and asked him what he did. He said most people just put all the fat and grisle in the sausage. He throws that out and only puts meat in it. So, they were all nice and lean, no matter what flavour he made for us. I like HIS sausages.

Um, still shaking head here at the title....
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law sauteed some zucchini and served it with the sausage and some pasta. Wasn't bad...
Or how about a lovely sausage sandwich, Italian style, with marinara sauce and green peppers?

Hi P1key! How about some throwing some cooked, crumbled sausage into your pancake mix? That would leave room on the plate for extra eggs and homefries, right? Oops, must be closer to dinner there, right? Sausage with galic, tomatoes, basil and olive oil tossed into your favorite pasta. And ice-cream cookies for dessert. What time is dinner?

Over here some people like what's called, Pigs in a Blanket, which is pancakes wrapped around sausage links. With the pancake syrup, it's sweet, salty and savory. They aren't bad. If you put the sausage in the batter, you'd accomplish the same thing...with only one pan. With fewer pans to wash, dessert is served faster.
Half an hour sounds GREAT!

I like to make my family something called a breakfast strata. Brown and drain the sausage. Put it in the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Add hash browns, cheese, mushrooms, or whatever you like. To cut the cholesterol I use egg substitute, stirred together with a bit of spices. Pour over top of the sausage and bake. Covers breakfast for us for a couple days.

Well, Some Tomato based Pasta sauces call for sausage meat with a mixture of ground beef. And it is really good. sausage goes great in Quiches and Frittata's, Omelet's, sausage gravies.

OK, the discussion itsself is very different from what your title suggested. LOL How about a good old fashioned sausage in a hotdog bun with sauerkraut and other yummy things? Or maybe sausage, biscuits, and gravy? Yummy!!!! Now you're making me want a sausage, but the kind you eat, not the kind you squeeze. LOL

Hello, Pikey. When I read the title, I thought you were reciprocating for yesterday, when I offered you a squeeze of my oranges.
When we were on holiday in Majorca last year, we had a lovely meal in a German-run restaurant. Basically, it was sausage meat, wrapped in large white cabbage leaves, then covered with onion gravy and baked in the oven. It was served with potatoes, and it was really tasty. You could experiment with the gravy/ sauce to find something you like, but I can certainly recommend it.

I make a similar recipe Sandra with minced beef. Mix beef, rice, salt and pepper and wrap in cabbage leaves. Line deep pot with cabbage leaves. Place mince packages on top and pour in chopped tomatoes. Bake in the oven for about about 40 minutes and serve with crusty bread. Or leave out the rice and serve with potatoes. Yummy.
