I would bet that Lan is way more faster than wireless. The speed would usually be down.

depending on the signal transmission, I have wireless signal intercept by my laptop for free from a neighbor who live 100 meter away from me, without her knowing I get the signal SSID and Ip address of her so i enjoy free internet. It is very fast compare to broadband, though the signal only get affected when their is a heavy rain. They are more reliable than broadband. Even more faster than my broadband connection that I have in my other laptop, it often so slow and so annoying with intermittent connection most of the times..

Hi ritwikbiswas22, i'm currently using a wireless broadband connection from Tata Indicom and it's quite fast comparing to other wireless connections in the market in India. I don't have any problems streaming online videos or downloading anything from the web, but there's a catch here, the service charges are very high. So i suggest that if you're not making that much money from the web, it'll be a drawback for you.

Can you elaborate more on which wireless you are talking about? Wimax, 3G, HSDPA(3.5G),Wifi? Anyways, wireless lines are generally weaker than wired ones. Meaning the speed will be lesser than what wired can provide. And also expect downtime if there are whether problems in your area. Just my 2cents.

Just as with laptops vs. desktops, you lose a little bit in the wireless vs. ethernet debate. However, in my experience the mobility bonus point is well worth the trade. I was probably the last person on earth to buy a laptop, not wanting to give up the speed power and storage capacity of my desktop. Then one day I went for it, if memeory serves right I was forced to by some logistical situation in my home. I have never looked back. The same thing happened when I changed over to a wirless nic.

Whireless can be tricky in terms of speed. Wireless internet signals work like raido and cell phone signals. They are trucky in how much you can get. However, the technology is solid. I have wireless everything. I have wireless internet service through clear wire, and I baught a router to take the wireless all over the apartment. I highly recommend it. If you can get a strong signal then the speed is amazing. Its a lot faster then DSL. Though if you can't get a good signal it might get frustrating fast. I recommend it, but warn you you may have times where you may be anoyed with it. But, this is normal.
