Will You Send It???

February 4, 2010 11:45am CST
Hi everyone! We all know about the messages we receive on our emails or skype, where it is written something strange and below we read the following: " Send this message to 10 people, if you want to be happy, otherwise you will be the unhappiest person on Earth/or something bad will happens to you". Well do you send these messages or you don't pay attention on it???

Hi, phoenix8606. I try not to ever respond to these type of jinx messages. I was sent a letter in the mail saying that I was to forward a letter to 20 different people. It said that the letter needed to leave my hands within four days. And if not, I would not reap the blessings. Well, I was very uncomfortable with reading this. I wanted to throw it away, because I did not want to believe in this scam. They did not ask for money at all. So, my first name was wrong on the envelope. I threw it away because they had the wrong name anyway. So, if there was going to be any kind of bad luck then it would not come my way. With these messages and any others, I will discard them all. I will not respond. The way that I see it, if God really is going to work a miracle in my favor. He will do it and he will not put a time frame on it.

I would still throw it away. I don't want to get myself all tangled up in this web.

hi! just want to ask you- if the name wasn't wrong, and it was your name written in that email, would you send it to these 20 people or you will throw it away again? It is very interesting how you have reacted on this message and that's why I ask you now :)

Hi, rekhum. That is a good way of thinking of it. If you don't believe what is written then nothing will happen. These messages are there to just to entice a curios only..
5 Feb 10
yes, but also if you believe it will not happen, only if you make something stupid, then it can happen to you, but I think these messages are just a junk

When I get those emails that either threaten something bad or promise great things if I do send them on, I just delete them. If they are just a sweet message to say "I Love You" or "I'm thinking of you today", I will send them on to only my friends or family that I would like to have that message. Those are chain letters and actually if you send them through the snail mail you are breaking the law. The internet gives people the opportunity to do the same thing, but because they don't have stricter laws for the zillions of emails that are sent every day, people get away with it. They actually could be considered blackmail if you think about it and I won't participate in their games.

Yup, I agree. Don't pass on that nasty stuff!
5 Feb 10
hi, surfette! Yes, the sweet messages are something really nice and I also don't delete them and send them to all my skype contacts or to all my friends via emails. Internet really gives us many things and rights, and that's why many people are doing this foolish things like sending messages with negativism in it and hope you will feel bad and upset when you read it

Sometimes I do send them to some friends but not because of the terrible warnings about what could happen if I don't. I don't believe all that rubbiish. Sometimes I receive one that is particularly touching and I want to share it so I will forward it but I often delete the message at the bottom when I do. If I suddenly disappear from here you will know that those messages are to be taken seriously

You see, we learn something every day here on myLot Hey do I get the shoes now ? ...
4 Feb 10
:) hope no one will disappear from here or somewhere else, because he/she doesn't send the message :). And you have gave me a very good idea, because till now It hasn't occur to me to delete the bottom of the message and to send it like that. next time when i receive a message with something positive in it and negative on the end i will just delete the negative part and send it to all my friends!

I totally ignore when I see such things. In fact, I went over to youtube the other day and I wanted to read comments about what others say about this particular song, and I think there were a lot of spams of such things. Like if you don't something2x...irks me to the max.

I don't really know, because I tend to ignore comments should there are spammers and just concentrate on watching the videos on display.
5 Feb 10
and what did the others said on youtube? are they doing the same thing like you when they receive a message like that, or they send it to the require number of people?

hello phoenix, I do receive same email like what you were saying. And,i don't send or do most of it. yesterday i receive an email from a dear friend...and the thought is all about "MOM". And,on the last part,it says...send this letter to all moms...make them feel how much they are loved. So,i did...i send the email to all my friends...to let them know how and what i feel when i receive and read that email. It is really inspiring and made me cry when i read it. have a good day always
4 Feb 10
first want to thank you about the answer. I also think messages like this that you have received must be send to the people, because they tell us something positive, something, which will makes us feel better and it is good if we send it to our friends and beloved ones, but messages with some negativism in it i think must be ignored, because there is nothing sensible in it. Right?

Hi phoenix8606, Isn't that just one of those chain mails? For me, I think it is wrong to forward those stuffs unless the following two conditions are both met: 1. There must be some meaning to the message. Something nice - some pretty graphic? Thought-provoking words? A nice joke? 2. I will always delete the part with the curse - like if you don't forward this to x number of people then bad things will happen to you - that is holy nasty even if it will not come through directly. As for the good part of send to X people and you will get X-men powers, that's fine.
5 Feb 10
yeah, if I will get the X-men powers then I will send it to 10, 20 or even 100 people, but it is just a non-sense and we should not believe this foolish things, if we want to feel well after the reading of it

I don't forward chains. If I like the message and want to send it on, first I delete the part about "send it on to 10 people or your nose will fall off"...
5 Feb 10
yes, i have didn't know about that, it just didn't came to my mind, bu mysdianait has already told me about it and from now on I will do the same thing if i receive a message that kind and it is a nice one

I receive that kind of messages as well and I just ignore them.. i don't let those emails control my destiny.. whenever i receive one through email or text message, i delete it..
5 Feb 10
yes, we don't let them affect on us, but I really don't think they can control the man's destiny, because we are the only one, who are responsible for that what happens to us and only we can change our own destiny, nobody else can do it instead us and nobody can affects us if we have a strong mind and we are reasonable enough ):

When I was a kid, and my family first got internet, I used to love sending those chain-emails all the time. Then, they were cute and sweet but now I just find them extremely cheesy. The internet has grown and changed so much since then, and I just think its dorky to keep on sending those chain things. w
5 Feb 10
yes, you are right. the internet wasn't that what it is now. everything was much more pleasant and nice

I ever got chain messages and they told me to forward the messages but without such message that u point above. It was kinda informative message, so i just forward it. However, i often got that junk messages via mobile phone n of course i didn't forward if the content is only a junk. If it's useful n informative message i send it but i delete the unimportant sentences(such like above).
4 Feb 10
Hi! till now I haven't receive messages that kind on my mobile phone and I am glad about it, because if i receive them on my mobile phone too, i will be very angry about it. And you are right, these messages are really junk

Yes i got such kind of massage on my cellphone or yahoo offline massage. Sometime i sent it. Sometime i didn't. Actually it depends on my mood. Also depends on my cell phone balance. Sometime i feel i should not believe such a things. As i believe my Allah. I am thinking to never response such kind of massage again.
5 Feb 10
I am really glad that I don't get messages like that on my mobile phone, because then I will be really very angry to the people, who have sent it to me. but i think you can tell your mobile provider about this messages and that it disturbs you, and they can track the person who have sent it and punish him, so taht he will not do it again

No, I will usually delete it straight away without reading further. I was wondering who will mass-send such texts, even though there's nothing malicious about the contents. Nobody ever got riches or blessings just by forwarding these message to 10 people. If you are one of those who ever help to "spread the word", you'll know what I mean.
5 Feb 10
yeah, we must not read them and just delete it, but if we don't know what is it about then how can we know it is something annoying? i am agree with you that we should delete it immediately after we have received it!

Hello friend, I received this type of messages but i never send it to others. It is useless and i don't want to lost my balance on useless things. I don't want to pay any attention about it. it wastage our time and balance also. So friend may i right?
5 Feb 10
I also don't send it to another person, well in the beginning when I was a little bit younger and still in the school, i send this kind of messages to many people, because I believed that something really bad will happen to me, but now I think like a grown man and don't make such foolish thing like in the good "old" time, when I was in the high-school( well it wasn't so far) :)))

I ignore those things, and am usually more upset that I even get them sent to me more then anything else. Most of them are very odd or silly. They amount to nothing more then a chain letter but an email instead of an old fashioned piece of paper. They have the same value as one too, worthless and at best a minor distraction that makes you smile.
4 Feb 10
yes, I ignore them too, because they don't worth and are just a waste of time. When I receive a message like that, i first read it, because it can be something interesting and then i delete it if it is something annoying!

I do not send them, as i believe only you can create your own happiness and no one can live your life, it is only up to YOU.
4 Feb 10
hi! yes, we all create our own destiny and happiness, but when the message is dispatch to someone else then the things stay in some other way. but you are right, we must ignore these messages and be happy with the life

When i started to use Internet, i always send them but i stop longtime ago, there so unuseful and annoying! And you can receive munch spam by people who will take your adress email in this chains!
4 Feb 10
yes, that's why we must have one regular email for the important thing and another one which we can use when we send messages to unknown people or companies, because there are many people, who violate with our data and send us these annoying messages.

i don't really care about those messages... sometimes it is even virus...
4 Feb 10
yes, it can be a virus, and several days ago it really was, when I receive a message on skype from a friend of mine, and it was about that, that I must send it to at least 15 people, because skype gets paid, and they must know is my account in use or it isn't. which was so stupid

Just delete those messages, don't even open them, it's nothing but a silly way to give your email address out and get an enormous amount of spam in your inbox soon. Unless spam makes you happy ... them I guess it does work! ;)
4 Feb 10
hi, amarkovi! I will not open them if i knew there is such disgusting things in it, but i can know, if I don't open it! Spam doens't makes me happy anyway, but the most of them I receive on my skype profile and I just can't refuse to read it, when it is in front of my eyes. But i just don't send them or send it to just one person and not to 10,20, or more
