Basement Room

Here's an update/photo on the room my daughter and her hubby are doing for us as a Christmas gift. Almost all the walls are up. One are by the door and the celing to do yet as far as the plaster boards. The door is hung but not yet framed in. I did the taping and mudding of the walls. He installed a new circuit for the room. The outlets are wired and working. The lights are hung up. The carpet is bought and in the basemenmt. Now to get him out here a little more often. Hee hee. When was the last time you did some remodeling of your place?

What type of remodeling was done?
Here's a shot of the carpet to install.
We also have the padding here.
The carpet is a light brownish tan color.

We had intended to have our kitchen remodeled, but we ended up moving and the people who bought the house did it. What we did was a lot more minor, shelving and closet organizers and flooring and painting and such. We had a beautiful drawing of the kitchen that had us taking out the separator (cabinets) between the kitchen and the breakfast room and leaving it all open...

Someday, I hope to remodel my kitchen as well.\
But first, I need cash to do all my windows as they are 55 years olod.

I had some painting done on the inside a few months ago but i have never added a room or anything like that. i know y'all will enjoy the new room when it gets done.

That's coming along very well, I can't wait to see the finished product!
The last time I did anything to my house was when my mom was here and had a hard time stepping into the tub to take a shower. I had the tub taken out and a shower put in, it looks very nice and probably added to the resale value but I surely do miss my tub! If I do anything else, it will probably be to put a nice deep tub in the basement--I'd like to make a tub area right outside the sauna where I can relax and soak. I probably won't, though, I'd rather save the money or replace the downstairs carpeting.

I want to do my bathroom as well.
I have a small tub and want to move one wall and make room for a larger tub and sink and cabinet. But cash is scarce.

The last time we did some remodeling in our house was about a year ago we put in new tile in the kitchen and bathroom and painted the walls in our basement. I bet you cant wait untill your basement is all done.

Yep Grandpa Bob you just need to get the son in law onthe ball and you will have a great basement room. We made the stupid mistake a number of years back of selling our house at the wrong time and trying to buy a new one.then we bought another house with a second mortage on it,which was to be paid off with the worm farm my husband was going to start.well he refused to study up on raising them and the bins he made had no bottoms so when '
the worms multiplied they all simply crawled out of his bins under the adjacent field. So no money from the worm farm at all and thus we were finally forced to sell that house. we ended up then renting apartments. so I never really got a chance to do more than paint some rooms in our first california apartment. loll

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
It is coming along fine, hope it will be all done before this Christmas, lol, just kidding, you are all doing a grand job of it. At the moment i am sleeping in the same bed as my hubby but I want to move in to the spare bedroom, so we are going to be doing it up and getting a new single bed for me, can't wait, I am moving into the spare room as I am a restless sleeper and kepts hubby awake and I'd rather leep alone and have the bed to myself, so I can move about as much as I can, lol.
