We never go shopping together unless it's for something really big like a car and we brought our last one 7 years ago. But today he asked If he could come to Cosco with me. Ok so off we went. The first thing he noticed was how much the store had changed. It now carries furniture and electronics, and more fresh produce. He really enjoyed himself and I left him to do the usual grocery shopping, well of corsue he found someone to talk to and spent most of his time talking, that was alright with me I got my stuff done and was on the way out when he caught up with me. All in all it went well. Do you and your other half shop together and if so how does it work out?

I hate shopping with my husband and when we have done it in the past it almost always ended in a fight. The problem with my hubby is that he starts off being very enthusiastic but it doesn’t usually doesn’t take long for him to become bored and so he will start complaining and rushing me by advising me to buy anything so we can go and that infuriates me! If he or my daughter come grocery shopping with me it ends up costing me a fortune so I am better off shopping on my own, with my sister or a girlfriend!

I am more likely to be the one who wants to hurry and get done. My last job, that I just recently left, had me shopping with eight people, among other things. I got very good at knowing where things were, and what prices were best.

My husband and I go out shopping whenever we can. There are slight differences as we are newly-weds he still likes to hold my hands, give me a kiss when we're waiting in line. We can stand at the hallmark card section for a few minutes in silence thinking of what card to get each other. Perhaps there isn't kids in the mix yet but at the moment we enjoy shopping with each other. Lately, since we work different times, we like to stroll down the market just to spend time with each other ;)

Hi Savypat I believe that it is a great honour for you that your husband has decided to accompany you. Shopping is not a pleasant activity for most of the male population. While the feminine majority enjoy window shopping, comparing prices, touching, trying things, men are a different alien species to these things. I just go and pick up what I really need and usually that does not take me longer than a few minutes. Longer than that is a waste of time. So I fully understand your husband when he decided to spend some of the time talking with his mate. Usually I end up in a cafeteria if there is one in the shopping arcade. :)

At our house it is not me who likes to shop. Hubby loves to go from store to store to make sure he gets the best deal, I hate it, I'll shop on line for the best price on the big things, but cereal, no way.

We used to do our grocery shopping together every week. I'd purposely wait for his day off so we could all go, mostly because he's an extremely picky eater, and I sometimes have trouble thinking of what he'll eat and what he won't, and if I get something he won't eat I want him to be able to pick something else out to have on that night. But then eventually I just started going alone, and realized it was easier. There are still times occasionally that he will come, but I notice I go over budget by about $100 when he comes! He likes to pick out special cereals for the kids, and if I see something and say "Oh that looks good" he'll put it in the cart, where as I would normally say "Next time I have extra money I'll try it". I don't mind when he comes with me, it helps me handle the kids. I just have to be a little stronger and keep saying no to him a lot!

It works out pretty goos for me when I go shopping with mine. We usually stay together but there are times when we split up and look at our own things. I like having him go with me for the most part.

We shop together regularly, then I ban him from the store. My husband doesn't really pay attention to prices, so I know when he shops with me I spend a lot more and that really bugs me. I'm frugal by nature, I coupon clip, look for the best deal, ect. I tell him we need mustard and he buys whatever brand of whatever type of mustard he likes and doesn't look at the price. Its like having a little kid with you that when you turn your back they throw thing sin the cart lol

I don't drive, so my husband always takes me to WalMart or Sam's. I'm lucky enough to have a local grocery store & a Walgreen's less than 3 blocks away from our house, so I don't have to get groceries at WalMart if I don't want to... Which I rarely do.

Bob and I shop together, it makes the work easier. We also go on food adventures, trying new things. On some things I think he is a better shopper than I am. On others I am the champion. I would rather take him with me, or go with him, than have him go alone. He likes to do that, but often buys stuff we do not need, or a much greater quantity than we can store.

When I was married I enjoyed hubby going anywhere with me, as it was so rare. But any kind of shopping was very stressful for me. I was thrifty and he thought money was made to be spent! Our retirement was our house, he said, so he spent money freely while I worried about having enough. He'd pile things in the cart with abandon, not even keeping track of the cost! I think it's funny that women are depicted as gabbing away in stores and such while it is usually men you see blocking the aisles while they chatter!

Hai, My other half like to go shopping the grocery with me and his job is pushing the trolley and checking prices of items, which is good or cheap but he is useless if i ask him to shop the grocery items alone since he's always lost on what to buy unless i give him the list..therefore, he prefer to tag me and help me to choose the food. Once i asked him if he got boring tagging me while i do my shopping either for the food or clothes for the kids or anything but to him is like to unwind his stress...hehehhe imagine that??

Once a week, UNFORTUNATELY. I have the tendency to go in, get what i need and leave. I do not like to dwaddle in a shop. But now, when the hubby tags along, each and every isle need to be checked, just so i do not need anything later. Yeah right. As if. But, as long as he enjoy it, i cannot complain. It is only tiresome, sometimes.

Hi Savypat, Yup, we go shopping together. I must say that he hates shopping and so do I, so aside for grocery shopping, anything else I need to buy, I research first on the net, find the store at the best price, call to make sure they have what Im looking for and then go to the store. I once bought a couch in 15 minutes. I knew what I wanted, went to the store to try it out and told the salesman I was taking it. He said he never had anyone shop that fast lol. I think I would win a record for the fastest shopping ever. But if we go to the mall, you can bet my husband will most definitely find someone to talk with......men!!! and they say that us women talk haha!!

shopping should always be together...whats the point in sopping if its done alone??it should be a collective decusion of both the persons when you go shopping..in that way you will be able to judge the requirememnts of both and buy accordingly

Yes, we do shop together in a kind of convoluted manner. We start off with 2 carts, and 2 lists on separate isles. She has my list made out to include all the stuff that is cut, and dried, (and easy to find). Her list has stuff like canned soup, (I wouldn't get the right kind) potatoes ( could be bad) anything raw or imported,(could be questionable) hearing aid batteries (I wouldn't get the right size) and the list goes on and on. Sometimes (if its a wet day) she even lets me drive the car!

Sometimes we do. Usually it's shopping for the kids for Christmas and birthdays. I almost always do the grocery shopping on my own.

We do if I am only going to one or two stores like sams or super walmart. I like him to go ever once in awhile, it does him good to realize how expensive it is to grocery shop, guys get removed from the cost of things if they aren't seeing the changes for themselves at the stores.
