My father taught me to drive a car. and i dont know, law in indonesia not like in other country. today boys and girls which their age still not getting 18 years have riding motorcycle or riding a car. even like that, the police not give them traffic ticket or something like that.

I think today, more than the age, it is how long your legs are is the deciding factor. The kids are very much exposed to the driving and always askng how long will I have to start driving.
But still you have to wait until your legal age is reached to obtain a driving license. This is mostly 18 years even though many kids would be able to drive while they are teenagers.

Maybe my friend call me late for being able to drive a car. I start driving a car at the age of 17 or 18, I don't quite remember. Many friends in high school take it as a pride to be able to drive a car at young age. But when I was able for the first time, I felt responsibility and burden. Responsibility is because the road in Indonesia is a mess. Burden, because I am the only guy in the family, so I will drive the car for the family even to drive in the half of Sumatera.

In California, you can get your permit at the age of 15 1/2 and a license at the age of 17. I'm 16 and I have permit, I guess I know how to drive, and I've learned recently, tickets costs too much to risk letting me practice driving or teaching me how to drive without a permit or license. :(
