why? ow? why? have you heard the song of Dan Hill? why do we hurt the ones we love?
i guess we tend to hurt our loved ones because we have the power to hurt them because we have a space in their hearts. when we love, it is our partner is hurting the most. when we hurt them (intentionally or unintentionally), the feeling lingers.
tell me why?
do you hurt the one you love? the most?

we hurt the ones we love because we take them for granted and we get a sense of power i suppose

The act which you say will hurt a loved one will hurt less those who are just your acquaintances. It is expectations that intensify hurt feelings. We are perpetually keeping an eagle's eye on those who love us and a slight disagreement - the so called moles are turned into mountains.

they mean alot to us and we can get hurt more easily because we know them and they know us. what they say or do or what we say or do can affect them more because they are closer to us than anyone else is. i think, too, we are more ourselves with the ones we love as to other strangers, which may make us get more angry at them even though we should not.

well... that is because if they were not your loved ones, you would not really care. it is because they are your loved ones nd you care that it tends to hurt sometimes in certain situations. if it was others, you would care less.

It's not really we hurt the ones we love. No relationship can be so smooth sailing from the beginning. It really passes through ups and downs. Sometimes happy, sometimes troubled, sometimes sad. Those problems we encounter in our relationship makes us strong, makes us better and we can learn from them. HOwever, if you feel that your hurt and sad most of the times than being happy with him, I guess, there's no other way but to end the relationship, you may not be meant for each other.

People hurt their loved ones because they can. Loved ones are more vulnerable to pain from someone they love than some other stranger. Its not always the case though. Maybe people like to entertain themselves by causing others grief while some do it unintentionally. It remains to be seen.

if the true on behalf of true love, I think no one is deliberately making mistakes solely with the aim of hurting her partner .... every humans always have errors and mistakes,no negligence ... I have never hurt the heart / feelings of my partner, but maybe there is a mistake I have ever done

If we hurt those we love, we are giving them pain and there was a saying called no pain no gain. That could be the reason.
