can you shop online even if your paypal account is unverified?

From what I have read when this has been asked before, the only thing that you can do when your Paypal is unverified is use it for online transactions, including shopping.

You can shop with an unverified paypal account, but you can't spend too much money, because until you do the verification there's a limit of money to spend for a payment.

Hi ybong, this is the second paypal question I have read this morning, and I have not used my paypal account to withdraw money, but I did use it to book a hotel last year. i haven't tried shopping online and much more, use paypal for shopping online. i am already a verified member so i guess, there would be no problem if i do so. but with unverified account, i guess you still can do shopping but the number of transactions you can do is limited. from what i have learned but i am not quite sure about this.

I once tried it on a local online store since my account is unverified. It pushed through although I had to comply first with some requirements like mailing them statements of billing address, a photocopy of a valid ID, etc. It probably depends on the store. As for ebay, I am totally clueless. As far as I know, you needed to bid for a certain product before you can purchase it. The online store I tried was a direct seller.
