Where can I buy some toe nails?

I've been up and down the High Street. I've been to all the DIY stores and to the supermarkets, but nobody seems to sell toe nails. I wondered if finger nails would be as effective? Several places can sell me toe nail clippers. But I don't want clips. I want nails. Can anyone suggest where I might get some?

Any shop that also sells gurning irons, left-handed hammers and long weights should be able to help you.
In my youth we had a REAL hardware store right in the middle of town. Upstairs they had the larger stuff in displays so cramped together that one was constantly saying 'excuse me' to the other customers. The place smelled of wood, paraffin, paint and rope, together with that exciting smell of iron. Downstairs was the small goods counter and the assistant there (who wore the regulation brown coat) had row upon row of small and large drawers full of every imaginable size of screw, bolt, nail, window fastening, glazing tack, rivet ... you name it! If you needed just five number 8 3/4" brass round-headed screws, that is what you got and what you paid for, wrapped in a small piece of strong manilla paper. There was no messing with huge triplicate sheets of invoice/delivery note for three halfpence of screws, such as our building merchants seem to rejoice in doing today (and if you had been in a few times before and seemed about to be a 'regular', you were politely offered the option to put it on credit).
Many the young lad was sent down to Piggots for a left-handed monkey wrench or a long weight (these were generally kept out the back in some obscure place and were generally, after meticulous and lengthy checking, 'out of stock and coming in some time next week'.) The great thing about the staff of these places was that they all had a sense of humour and fully played the game.

As a young apprentice hole borer (true not joke) I was sent for a "long Stand". I had trouble charging that one to a job I recall. In the town of my youth, Wallingford in Oxfordshire, there is a similar hardware store or Ironmongers named Champions. If they don't have it then it cannot be found. If you want a washer, then they split the packet and sell you one. Now I'm off to turn a thread on a piece of square section pipe.

Fingernails wouldn't be strong enough.
Have you totally lost the plot or are your toes in need of repair?

That's a shame, the world would be so much better if there were more people looking at life your way.

I love that term "socialised medicine". Makes it sound like we all sit around the fire eating comfort food and nattering whilst we wait to see the Doc. Instead we listen to piped muzak, small children sniffing, embarrassed looking young girls (Yes dear we know that you're here for the pill). But at least we get seen and don't have to pay. I prefer it my way to yours. $95 and counting (to $500) for daughter's visits to the Dr in NC. LOL.

I could send you mine, I had a pedicure a month or so ago and had acrylics put on and think it's time to take them off. Does it matter if they're used or not? I think you might be able to find some new ones at the hardware store, they keep them in the same aisle they keep the hammers.

oh pikey you really had me going. ah ha ,toe nails as in toeing a joint or some such malarkey that carpenters use. So go to a store that sells nails and screws and bolts and all such stuff. And do not get toe nail clippers for those toe nails either. wont hold up at all. I really cannot see driving finger nails into the
wood, they would just bend.he he he he he. Here you would go to Home Depot or Lowes stores but dont know if you have them over there in England. toe nails wow.

The ones I've gotten are a gel that hardens really hard (ive gotten fingernails) they fileyour regular nail down a bit along the surface then build it up with the "gel" even can extend them to make them longer. They hurt like a SOB when you break them off though!

I would imagine that any tattoo/piercing parlor could help you. Make sure the boss brings the camera so that there will be pictures to share.
Or, if you aren't sure, only do one foot. The use the press-on nails on the other. If you spend a day or three with open-toed sandals I'm sure that you will gather enough opinions to help you make up your mind. Oh, and post a picture of that too, ok?

Uh, I had not thought that they actually sold artificial toe nails..but upon searching for them I did find some. I seriously should consider getting me some. I hate my toe nails alot. I checked eBay out and it appears they have them there as well..wow thanks for bringing this to my attention. Maybe I can have pretty toe nails now.
