I think all kinds of reading counts! I always encouraged my students to read anything! They said they didn't like to read but would go through an entire game magazine looking for cheats and codes! lol! I told them the comics is reading, magazines and newspapers counted too... just read!!! What makes up the most of your reading? I love to read books but lately I have been reading more magazines... do you read more magazines or books?

i would say i read more books than i read magazines because i dont read magazines at all. i dont buy them and i dont waste money on them because they will soon be outdated. magazines are not a good collection unlike books thatwhich takes longer to be out of the trend

I don't know. I read both a lot. I am keeping all of my Runner's World magazines. I go back and read them. They always have good information on diets and training. But some I guess do get outdated. But then like REader's Digest and such doesn't.. I guess it matters which you are reading. Science mags will be out of date quickly!

The magazines I like I try to purchase a subscription that way they are much cheaper. I buy my books online or at thrift stores as that is less expensive. I don't really like reading ebooks too much.

I read books more than magazine. What I like in magazine are the pictures of dress, make-ups and some places. I much prefer books and it has to be English since I am trying to learn a little English on every book I read. I like also magazine, but at home you will see a stock of books more than magazine. If my favorite celebrity is the front cover of the magazine I will surely buy it but after reading about him or her, I will keep the magazine.

i like reading more magazines than books.i find that the novel in the magazines is short,i like to read slowly and understand the actor's feeling and love and share the life's reality.but there is not different between the book and magazine.the details of book is too long.i dont have good mind to read carefully and often read quickly and want to find the result of book.there is not meaning for reading a book.so i like to read magazines.

Magazines are great! I like the short stories and the real life emotions found in articles. It is more "real" than a book sometimes. I can distance myself from a story line in a book even though mentally involved. A story in a magazine which has pictures is really more "real".

I have always preferred books to magazines. I am not sure why. A friend of mine always reads magazines and she takes them to the beach. I would rather have a book.

I like both but for very different reasons! I guess they both serve their own purpose! They are both enjoyable!

I guess they do both serve a purpose. Magazines are good if your in a doctors waiting room because the stories are short. I think I like longer stories, that's probably why I like books more.

Yes, my hubby has exactly the same excuse. I don,t like to read, but the pc format and nag magazines, are books as well, i think. I love to read and will do anything just to curl up with my favourate book and try to finish it as fast as i can read it. But that is only me. It takes my hubby about 3 hours to work threw one of those mags. MEN.

The library is a great resource!! I usually wait until I can get a good deal on a subscription. I can usually find one for about a dollar an issue. I don't mind that price it's lots cheaper and I don't even spend the time or gas to get a new issue!

I really enjoy reading books but sometimes it seems like I just don't have any time! I'm in University so I have to read my textbooks so I am pretty much sick of reading by the time I finish my readings for school each week. When I don't have school or am on vacation, I stay fresh by reading some Augusten Burroughs books. Magazines are not really my cup of tea but I do like to read blogs online, I think that counts as reading too. Considering we are in the digital age maybe encourage students to read things online?

I hear ya! When I was in school I didn't read much outside of assignments either. I would occasionally grab something just for fun when I was on break though! I think blogs definitely counts as reading!

Most books have to be good for me to stay with them. If I read a few pages and I'm not into it by then, I toss it! It's pretty much gotta grab me and get me into the story right away!

Hi macdingolinger
I read very less magazines or books as I don't like reading many books. But I read books which I feel to read and which are very interesting to read. I like to read childre'ns comics, magazines and newspaper. But reading books is a very good habit, and there is no best friend like a book. Do you agree for that? Have a nice
day.

I always read magazines or books. It is one of my hobbies. Whenever I found books that I found to be interesting I mostly get it and read it.Reading is fun and entertaining, it will make you knowledgeble in many things around.
In my case I used to read books when I was young, that's the reason why I have a lot of information when it comes to general information.
Some people were amaze of me with the things they don't know but I know. reading helps me a lot in here.

I would definitely would have to say that I read more books than I do read magazines. I'm a lot more interested in reading books than in reading magazines. I've always loved to read books, ever since I was a child, for as long as I can remember. I might occasionally read a magazine, but it really does not happen very often at all.

I love to read everything and anything that I can get my hands on. But during one month I would have to say I read more magazines. Right now I'm in the middle of reading a book but I also have my magazines that come in every month such as Ladies Home Journal and The Oprah magazine.

I read more books than magazines. Well, actually, I hardly read magazines at all. But I'm a bookworm. I've been collecting books ever since I was a little girl. I don't think I'll ever get books out of my system. My life wouldn't be the same without them. I will always love reading.

I browse magazines more than books, because magazines tend to fill me in with bite-size chunks of information, which are easily "digested". Magazines are a better read for me because they are more condensed, and usually doesn't take me long to finish. That couple of minutes could have given me all the recent updates on the various aspects of the subject at hand.

Magazines are great. You can read them a little at a time unlike a book. The magazines also have lots shorter articles so that helps be able to complete them. I really enjoy both!

You're absolutely right! I love reading a wide variety of materials, from magazines to journals to literary books and academic books. It's fun and informative. You learn a lot of things. You gain so much from being a wide reader. You get to interact more with people because you've got a lot of information in your head to back you up on any subject brought up in a discussion. It keeps u updated with what's going on with the world around you, on people, technology and other stuffs. It also enhances your mind and imagination. Reading is really rewarding. :D
